Wow; this was a very well done, very interesting bit of TV writing which proves that the first episode was not just a one hit wonder. I loved everything here; the story direction (which is so radically different then the first episode), the new characters (Doe especially), and the tone (which, unlike the plot, is identical to the first). Wonderful episode, and this had some of the most tense and suspenseful scenes in television this year. It starts right where we left off last time, and then goes through a series of events which transpire to the greatest escape scene in a long time; and a very, very well written one, at that. There is a lot of mystery, and the show utterly shocked me by taking a completely different direction then I thought it would. John seems to be more of a fragment of the story, and I suspect the shift will be on two elements; him, and the conflict between the “watchers” and the “retrievers”. Lyra and Doe, of course, being the two new additions, and wonderful ones, at that. The ending was absolutely perfect. I was sitting there after, thanking Daz, it did not end with a twist. I am not against the idea, but the change of pace felt wonderful, and it was nice to open up a new set of questions besides focusing on one aspect to end with. Overall, a thrilling, gripping and exciting experience that proves TV is alive and well. If “Point” was the CPR, then this was the breath recitations that helped bring it back to life. An excellent show, with an excellent premise, and excellent characters. I found this far superior to the great first part of the pilot.

I like how you're executing this so far. A good mix of action and drama with a whole lot of mystery.
