Hey; I read through the changes you made since you sent it, and, before I talk about the show itself, I do want to say that it works much better now.
I really liked this as the first part of the pilot; I think it was both emotionally and atheistically pleasing in structure, there is no rushing, nor any pacing errors. The mystery doesn’t really hit until a good portion of the script, to point; I’d say about halfway, and by that time, I was so involved with the excellent “at-home” drama, that I couldn’t care less if he had a mysterious phone call, or if he was wearing a telephone on his head- those first few pages are my favorite bits.
This is not to undermine the later bits, though; I admit it- I was nervous. It seems like such an impossible story to handle, but you made the delightful twist of having him look for his “wife”, something which made it so much more then simple “cat-and-mouse”, between a mysterious man and John. [Though the very first phone call has some extremely nice dialogue.]
The thing that interested me, though, was if the show would have a clear direction. Now, I know you plan for, hopefully, multiple seasons, and while I assume we will be handed further proof; I must say, I do see a few ways this show can go. It is an unusual concept, but I am sure you can branch it off. For example, I have absolutely no clue what the mysterious men can be in this show for, and am going to love to find out why. I am wondering how literal everything will be, as well.
Overall, an excellent television episode; that hints towards the starts of one of the great TV shows; certainly one of the biggest. It has great emotional depth and nice thrills, together, complementing each other. (The bit with the daughter saying she didn’t love her mother was my favorite bit). I am happy this show is here, also; as it adds something on my list of things to care about, and things to pay attention to. I suspect this will be a very good source of entertainment for the whole site; it is widely appealing.

I thought this was a really cool episode. It set a whole tone that told me that this is a show that I really intend to keep on reading.

Good pilot episode, looks to be a good starting point for a series. I'll be reading the rest in the next week or so.
