Yeah...it's become traditional to make one of these threads. Please post all reviews here if you review it. I'm very happy with the film and there is a trailer for a secret project coming out early this July that I've already gotten a big chunk of done. So buy a ticket and see Serve and Protect.

Serve and Protect is an interesting movie. It is filled with flashbacks and it's big on character. The protagonist is pretty unlikeable and Jack's the only character who really has a moral backbone. Everybody else is a racist, a whore, a murderer, a drug user, or not essential to the plot. The flashbacks offer some insight into the characters although they do get tiresome after a while. The quasi-sexual obsession that Shane had with Jack was a bit off-putting. His final decisions represent the power of apathy and ignorance mixed with violent aggression. The ideal of "Serve and Protect" becomes null and void because nobody does any real serving or protecting. Now, don't get me wrong. I liked it. It may have been an violent and deplorable story with few likable characters, but it was an interesting violent and deplorable story with few likable characters. The movie truly captivated my interest, and even though you don't like the characters, you still want to see what happens next because the writing is supremely enthralling. The intensity is top-notch and there is a palpable weight to the proceedings tinged with an urban darkness. Overall, in reflection, I give Serve and Protect a 7 out of 10.

Thanks a lot, Cristo. It's good to see a nice review on here, and I agree with all that you said...except for Shane being in love with Jack.
