SINISTER (V.O)
Every man has a price to charge LeBeau.
Playing Cards flutter down to a black surface, the cards fall one after the other, weightlessly. Almost in slow motion.
As they land, a loud THUD echoes out. The cards fall quicker, each one that lands causes another thud, the beats come more and more often until they sound like a heartbeat.
GAMBIT (V.O)
Every man has a price, and every man has a price to pay Sinister.
One last card falls, it lands at the top of the pile; face up is the ACE OF SPADES -- It lands without a thud, without a sound.
SINISTER (V.O)
The game is only just beginning LeBeau.
The card gets closer - A red dot appears; it grows, every second that passes the shape of the Spade changes slightly. A red dot appears in the center, soon the Spade has morphed entirely -- Into the shape of an eye, Red iris on Black sclera.
MATCH CUT:
INT. DARKENED ROOM
An unshaven man, with long auburn hair and the same red and black eyes kneels in a darkened room. He is GAMBIT. AS solitary beam of light shines down on Gambit, illuminating him in the darkness like a spotlight would shine on an actor on stage.
GAMBIT
What do you want me to do?
SMASH CUTS:
EXT. NEW YORK SREET CORNER – DAY
GAMBIT flicks a card into the air, the card begins to glow and spark before combusting busting in every direction like a firework.
EXT. ROOFTOPS – DAY
Gambit charges across a rooftop, he reaches the end and leaps without a second thought. He makes an almost impossible jump the adjacent roof landing effortlessly on his feet.
He continues running on the second roof top, he leaps once more and lands cat like on a third.
INT. SUBWAY STATION
Gambit slides underneath a turnstile, out running police officers. He dodges them with speed and agility not of a normal man.
Gambit leaps in front of an oncoming train leaving onlookers petrified. Gambit misses it by a whisker landing safely behind.
INT. SECURE RESEARCH FACILTY – NIGHT
A wall is broken through leaving a huge seven foot high hole. The beast like form of SABRETOOTH walks through; he lifts and throws anyone he can get his hands on.
EXT. OUTSIDE SECURE RESEARCH FACILTY – NIGHT
RIPTIDE, a silver haired man spins at tornado like speeds. H sucks in any one who approaches him, only to send them hurtling backwards at an alarming rate.
MYSTIQUE acrobatically kicks away at several armed guards freeing herself from their grip.
A green haired female, VERTIGO unleashes a wave of Psionic energy that throws several approaching guards off balance. They fall to the floor unconscious.
Gambit is on the floor; he slowly looks up and begins to scramble forwards. There is silence; the sound of a gun being cocked breaks it.
The gun is pointed directly at Gambit’s temple.

What is it that pulls a man in many directions all at once, but which at the same time also holds a man together?

Gambit pulls an attractive blonde woman; BELLA DONNA BOUREAUX towards him, they kiss passionately.
INT. HELL FIRE CLUB, GRAND BALLROOM – NIGHT
Riptide releases several projectiles as he tears through the ballroom of the Hellfire club.
EXT. TRAN YARD – NIGHT
A young woman, dressed all in white with dyed multicoloured hair dives, flattening her body to the width of a piece of paper, through a gap in a passing by Train’s carriage door.
EXT. OUTSIDE SECURE RESEARCH FACILTY – NIGHT
A huge intimidating figure; SCALPHUNTER, with scrap pieces of metal strapped to a tool belt and an oversized shotgun throws a metal sphere to Gambit.
SCALPHUNTER
Charge this!
Gambit grasps it tightly in his palm until it begins to vibrate and spark. He throws it and it lands with an explosion that fills the screen.
