Two young men are sitting in a room, music pounding all around them, neon lights flashing wildly. One of them is drinking a glass of beer while the other is impatiently sitting across from him on a couch. The younger, named Jay, has darker hair. The older, Rock, has blonde hair.
ROCK
Look, man, I call the shots…you most certainly look like the kind of guy I can trust. I should pull out my glock right now a put a hole in your skull…
Freeze frame on Rock’s face- the words “The Drug Dealer” appear on screen.
The frame moves over and freezes on a shocked and concerned Jay’s face.
JAY (V.O.)
My choices…my life. I wanted it to be better- I ended up destroying it.
Cut to fast moving scenes of Jay on the top of a speeding car, freeze frame on his face. The words “The Student” appear on the screen.
JAY (V.O)
The car’s going 40…what am I thinking? I’m not Bruce Willis or Jackie Chan. What am I doing?
Flashback to a scene of Jay talking to his friend Wally at his house.
JAY
I lost my scholarship today.
WALLY
Bummer…you gonna drop out?
JAY
No…I’ll find a way to get the money.
Flash forward to a scene of a man in his 40s, Shaun, getting a needle ready. Freeze frame- the words “The Dad” appear on screen. Flash to scenes of him being beaten to a pulp by an older gentleman
MAN
Where’s my stash?
Flash to Jay and Wally riding in a car with tons of drugs hiding under a blanket in the back.
JAY (V.O)
Too bad it didn’t just end at that.
Flash forward to scenes show a deadly assassin getting ready to shoot at Rock. Freeze frame- “The Killer.”
JAY (V.O.)
And then they took my love, my Ella.
Flash to a scene showing a bound and gagged young woman. Freeze frame- “The Love.”
Scenes flash showing multiple shootouts and Wally and Jay in a bloody fistfight. The words “These Are the Players” scroll across the screen as the song “Ballroom Blitz” plays in the background.
The flashing scenes and music stop to show Jay talking on a payphone:
ROCK
There goes that mouth of yours again…liable to get you killed. You still think you’re in control.
Quick flash to a scene with Jay, his eyes fixed on something off screen, points and fires a pistol with resolve.
The title flashes on screen like it had been fired from the gun- “Last Score- Opening This Weekend.”
