One thing this episode held above the others, and made me know, instantly, I was in for a treat, is the opening scene, which, using the juxtaposition of two scenes, was ultimately thrilling. Other then that, the episode was a good one; I thought it was one of the weaker of the season, but with the standards set, so far, that still means I enjoyed what I read. The flashbacks of Tanner were all right, and presented a bit of character information, even if it didn’t seem to do much for the plot. It is one of those episodes that didn’t really go too far, even if it presented quite a bit for display.
Tanner was, of course, the stand out character here; even if C.O. still remains the most mysterious, even though she still has not proved herself worthy of being held in the same esteem of Derek, Alex, or someone; and this showed in the episode, as their lack made for an only partially interesting storyline, which revolved sporadically, briefly stopping, until it finally came to an end at a final scene which was, also, not a high one in terms of the show’s great ones. The next episode hints to be good, though.
Overall, there is not too much I can say on this episode, as it didn’t supply lots to discuss, though the show is still going strong, and I hope soon the flashback episodes suffice back to the plot-based heavies we had earlier; even if they fill up some gaps.

2x05– “The Reluctant Lamb”
The Reluctant Lam opens with what seems like a more refined version of the closing to “Worth Killing For, intercut with scenes of Derek escaping Johnson security and stealing a car. This brought on the action and was a very thrilling way to open the episode in stark contrast to last week’s slower, character approach. No, I’m a character guy, all about the characters but I can’t help but feel that “Point” is at its best when the bullets start flying.
I said in the previous review that i hoped the flashbacks wouldn’t become a regular thing for “Point” however it appears as if they will here as we see Tanner investigating a Coffee Shop robbery. And whilst I can get behind that idea (I did after all write a whole movie about robbing a coffee shop) I do feel like it cheapens what’s going on in the current day a little. We had a whole season to get to know Tanner and I would like o see more time dedicated to the other members of Derek’s team. We’re five episodes in now and so far they must have been in less than ten scenes combined. I do like the idea of adding mystery to the Johnson character and building the interconnection between Johnson and our heroes (Derek in the last episode, Tanner in this one0 but I’m at the point know where I want to know more about the mystery they’re currently dealing with.
I didn’t like the torture scenes between Dave and Alex this time around. Because it was basically a rehash of something we’ve already seen several times, and done better I might add. Also the dialogue was fairly bad here and didn’t live up to the standard you’ve been setting yourself recently .The rescue was quick, perhaps a little too easy but I liked the idea of C.O capturing Scott. His showdown with Alex was also well written. I like the way C.O is so polite and talking to Alex about the police code of conduct and Alex ignoring it because she’s a total hot head.
I’ve wanted to see some Tanner and Alex interaction since the beginning of Season 1 and as soon as I think I’m going to get it, Tanner starts foaming at the mouth and has a seizure. Damn you! Interesting plot point and keeps the drama coming. Not only has C.O now got Scott, but the trade off is no longer remotely worth it for Derek and Alex because Tanner is down and looks to be out.I do enjoy it when things don’t work out.
Overall this was a fair episode with some damn good action and some lofty consequences. I’m not a fan of the use of flashbacks for the second time in the season; especially when they didn’t really provide us with any new information other than to show how Tanner got involved with the Johnson investigation. Tanner just isn’t a particularly strong character in my mind. She’s like Alex-Lite without the chip on her shoulder. I did however like the brief appearance by Lenny who, if memory serves was involved with Johnson’s organisation last Season. I feel that with the rescue of Tanner and the flashbacks over the past few episodes, the show ahs kind of lost sight of why Derek and Alex were going after Tanner in the first place; so they can find out who Tanner’s inside man was. It was an interesting plot point earlier in the season as both C.O and Tanner were trying to track them down, we now know that the inside man was Robin (at least I’m presuming that’s whom in is based on this episode) so I hope we can return to both sides of the field trying to track Robin down.
Score: 7.5/10
