This was another very stellar episode that proves me right- season 2 is even greater then the first. Harding is so well done and has such a nice design and plot in this episode; his segments are the best in the episode, with the best scene being the entire ending with him and C.O., who is growing more and more mysterious, what with his name always being associated with Johnson. I think that he is the one thing I would kill to figure out who he is.
I liked seeing Tanner at the end, as she wasn’t in this episode, after such a cliffhanger too; but that is all good with me, since I loved getting more of a closer look at Derek and Alex together, who actually make a wonderful couple. A possible romance in the future? Then again, Alex is a character who goes along great with other characters, especially Harding, as well.
I loved the “Marie” bit, as well- that was a clever thing to do, in an episode full of clever things. I think the direction you are heading is so clear and so mapped out that this season will be so much more in depth. I mean, already, the first two episodes were the longest two (via page count) of all time, with this one at 25 pages! That made me smile when I opened up the document, and even more so as I started reading, all the way to the tension-laden ending.
Overall, though, this keeps up the pace of the premiere, and equals out to a so-far perfect season, with having Harding join the team serve as the finest move you made yet.

2x02– “The Fourth Man”
“The Fourth Man” opened in a hospital room with Harding, still injured after the Bank Heist. He is soon introduced to his Court Appointed Attorney who informs Harding that there’s a deal on the table that could possibly reduce his jail time for his responsibility in the Heist.
As it turns out, the people behind the deal are Derek Shan and Alex Weiss. Derek wants to bring Harding in and make him part of the team so to speak, in an effort to track down the people really responsible for the Heist. The transition to the new story post heist has been fairly seamless thus far and I feel commend Indy on that. As I said I was a little worried what the show would do once it moved away from the bank and so far everything seems to be going smoothly.
I felt the conversation with Shan and Alex was a little bit misleading to begin with. They made it sound as if some jail break out was about to occur and then there was talk of a deal. I have a small prove with this, mainly because they were talking of bailing him out. If C.O and the people behind the heist are as powerful as it has been suggested, then it wouldn’t take much to find out who bailed out Harding and put the pieces together. But maybe that’s just me putting to much thought into things.
Harding also got a court hearing fairly quickly, I’m not sure if we skipped months ahead of if this was the same day but surely these things are a fairly lengthy process. It seemed like you just wanted to rush through this as quick as possible and move onto the good stuff; which is a shame, cause I’m a sucker for pseudo legal jargon.
I felt Harding’s integration into the group was a little bland. Alex’s trepidation early on was well done but I felt Harding revealing that he already knew who the group were, was a little too casual. It was like he was talking to old friends. And Derek’s reaction was a lot like a cartoon villain (yes i realise he’s the good guy) twirling the moustache and saying “foiled again”. Speaking of Alex and trepidation, I feel she’s become a part of the team a little too quickly. I would have preferred to see her initially a little untrusting of Derek and the others, creating some drama and friction. Now she’s bailed Harding out of prison, I’d love to see Dewey and the police get involved, tyring to figure out what’s going. I think they’d make good “outside looking in” type characters who get stuck between C.O and Derek’s Group. Hell it’d be a good twist if C.O started manipulating the police and using them against Alex and company.
The final act brought on the surprises and left us with a good cliff-hanger leading into the next episode. I really like C.O as a character and already he’s been a far more effective villain than Johnson or those in the bank during the heist in my opinion. The fake safety deposit box was an interesting route to take and I look forward to seeing how that turns out, especially with Tanner now being in the picture.
Overall, this picked up where the previous episode left off and amped up the drama. I like Harding as a character and I enjoy the idea of Alex and Derek using him to get to Johnson. Of course, they soon find out about C.O and the game plan changes. I would like to see a little more out of some of the new characters, namely Sophie and Clare. They appear to be pretty much in interchangeable at this point and don’t really have any defining characteristics between them. Last Season I wanted to see more interaction between Tanner and Alex so I’m happy to see that the actions of one directly affects the other here and I’m eagerly anticipate the next episode.
Score: 8.5/10
