Indy, after finishing 2x01, I need to say that I am in love with where this show is going. The entire recruiting process (especially with Alex), and “the house”, all of the secret group stuff- it all really hits a great note with me. That, and I really like how, ever since about half way into season 1, the show has split into two stories, essentially, besides many. There is Alex and Derek, and the group- and then C.O. and Tanner. Speaking of which, though, let me say- Wells and C.O. are two great characters, especially C.O. and the deviously sinister ending. This is “Point” at its prime right here, thrilling, suspenseful, stylish, and very well done. Also, while I liked it at the time, I am glad the bank robbery plot is over. It was very good, but with a new season, it is nice to see things so fresh and so different. I am loving this kidnapping story and everything else that is going on, even with a few mysteries already open (C.O. being the largest). I like when he used the name Johnston, as well. A. It was a nice way of masking who it was. B. It pointed out that Johnson is close to Johnston, something that confused me once or twice in season one. I thought it was funny to see mentioned. Also, I like the line about “getting to the point”, since it mentions the title. Dewey and Alex’s talk scene was also, to my honest surprise, well written and wholly believable. (Usually briefing and police meetings are hard to do, I think). And Johnson’s line about being famous and getting to jail made me like him even more. I cannot decide who my favorite character is anymore. It was Derek, but I like how Johnson is completely different this time around, very meek and helpless, almost, as C.O. is calling the shots. Makes him a great character, C.O. too, who I cannot get over how good he is. Overall, though, this is one of the best episodes yet, and while I will always love the “Pilot”, it certainly ranks up there as a great premiere. The show, after ten whole episodes, still seems so fresh, so addicting, and so original. I am really loving this, and to say I am impressed, might, by this “point” be an understatement. When is episode 2 coming out? What is its title, as those are always one of my favorite things.

The next episode has been sent to Daz, so it should be up by Thursday. It's entitled "The Fourth Man" . I hope you like it!

2x01 – “Match...”
I was worried about Point following the end of the first season. It ended on such a down note, with quite the body count, some meaningless action scenes and little revelations about what the show had been building towards. Following Season 1, I couldn’t help but wonder what the “point” (do you even have to ask if the pun was intended?) of the whole thing.
The start of “Match...” (Love it when Indy uses these types of titles, just for reference) opens with Tanner in the aftermath of her car accident. She is quickly abducted by the man responsible for the accident to begin with C.O. Doubt is gone, intrigue is back. Awesome start to Season 2.
Dewey giving Alex a bit of a dressing down was nice to see. I like that they’re not just sweeping her misconduct under the rug, no matter how badass she may have been Alex trying to justify herself fits well with in her character and I sincerely doubt she intends to stay at home for a month. So I’m looking forward to seeing what she does.
I enjoyed the return of Derek Shan, he was missed from the finale of Season 1 and I like that he enlisted the help of Alex here. They should make an interesting duo.
I enjoyed the lines in the prison, from the Disneyland and Charles Manson quips to the Johnston and Johnson comparison. It was bloody confusing at times, especially for people like me who do most of their reviewing at two in the morning. C.O’s conversation with Johnson was quite enlightening and already C.O is shaping up to be quite the character.
Alex was introduced to Derek’s team, including the grumpy Wells, SWAT “guy” Cereghino as well as the operators of the house, Sophie and Clare. There seems to already be an agenda brewing with Sophie as she concealed a gun from Clare for some reason I’m sure we shall discover soon.
Overall, Indy had a difficult challenge ahead of him following the finale of Point Season 1. Not only did he have to redeem himself after the poor finale but also had to change the entire game and move on from the bank setting that feature so prominently in the first season. Thanks to the introduction of C.O, I believe the show was successful in creating a new and interesting dynamic and C.O looks to be a bigger and better villain in every way. And whilst I may be lavishing a fair bit of praise onto the episode, it wasn’t without its flaw. The liberal use of the “F” word was a little bit over the top. Once or twice I get, but it was used in situations that didn’t really call for it. The characterisations are a little dicey. Derek’s crew didn’t really make much of a first impression, none of them really standing out as distinct characters. So I hope to see them develop a little more.
Score: 7.2/10
