Vincent didn't Post It so Fantastic but yet the same old, same old
Plot: A man and his estranged two sons go on the run from seemingly unstoppable and unexplainable disasters. As they head toward San Francisco California pieces to the puzzle are discovered however the whole plot is basically spoon fed to you at a certain part in the film, which sort of took me out of it a bit. Yes a pretty basic plot but every thing in between is what makes this film excellent.
Rating: 8.0
Characters/Acting: The characters are great and have a lot of depth. From the moment the main character Lynd Breckman(Josh Brolin) meets his sons Sean(Paul Dano) and Caleb(Nathan Gamble) you can sense the separation between them but as the terror strikes you can also feel they aren’t that to unfamiliar with their dad but however they still prefer their mom Elizabeth Schreck(Emily Wagner), who also is not to thrilled about the man. As they travel out of harms way you can get a more sense of who they are and you find out that Lynd is not exactly the action hero he seems to be. The dialogue is great although cheesy at times and a bit predictable.
Rating: 8.0
Fun/Boring to Watch: It was off the chains! It kept me wondering WTF is going on here but like I said b4 it was a bit spoon fed. I loved all the action sequences and the twist such as San Francisco being destroyed and I felt the anxiety they did as the world in their eyes was basically crumbling.
Rating: 9.0
Final Take: This film was great and I’m a sucker for a happy ending. It reminded me of War of the Worlds meets JFK but the JFK factor was ruined when the president of the U.S.A. came out of no where and told the public what was going on, it really sort of zapped the realism factor from the film because there’s no way in hell the U.S. would ever admit to killing millions of it’s citizens. But like I said b4 I’m a sucker for a happy ending.
FINAL RATING: 8.0
