RMR - Hey Kiefer, glad to be doing this interview with you.
Kiefer - Likewise.
RMR - Now, Kiefer. You're going to be staring in AEC Productions upcoming film, directed by Andrew Carter. Can you give us any details on the film title.
Kiefer - My lips are sealed. But I can say that the title will be revealed in the next 2 weeks.
RMR - What's it like working with first time directer, Andrew Carter?
Kiefer - To be honest. It's absolute madness. Chuckles. But I guess that's what makes him so good. He's absolutely unorthodox in his styling. We've shot about 4-5 scenes, and he hasn't even cast a female lead yet. It's just crazy.
RMR - Who's in the running to be cast?
Kiefer - He's been looking at a few actresses, we all thought Anna Paquin was a shoe in, then he decides he wants someone older, so he contacts Ashley Judd. I think he's in talks with Marisa Tomei at the moment. But I cant be too sure. Andrew is a brilliant directer thus far, but he is messy in how he does things. He's also an innovator. He's given me an i-Pod with songs relevant to each scene, so I know how my character would be feeling, I mean, that's just genius.
RMR - What can you tell us about the film itself? Like the plot. Carter's been very secretive about all of this. Maybe you can shed some light?
Kiefer - I want to tell you everything, but I can't. All I can say is that this film in similar to the Matrix, Donnie Darko, The Terminator and a good old cop film. It really is another monster compleatly to what people are use to. It's set on New Years Eve/Day.
RMR - What's it been like filming in Melbourne, Australia when the film in set in New York City?
Kiefer - It is an odd move. But I think that were filming in Melbourne because Andrew's from here. Hell, the majority of the cast are Aussies. I'm a minority. Laughs. But seriously, it's great here. And this film probably has the best script I've read in awhile. I had to have this part.
RMR - Yeah, I heard they originally offered it to Vincent Chase. (PS. lolz)
Kiefer - They actually had a few other actors lined up, but I begged and pleaded and got to star in this film. And working with Andrew on what will be his first blockbuster is a bonus.
