Heres a preview from the begginning of the film. This is when we first meet the character of JOHN.
JOHN is standing under a dim light inside his garage. He is staring down at the floor, at what we have no idea. Whatever it is, he can't seem to take his eyes off of it.
John(Voice over): Its an addiction. I don't want it, yet at the same time I seem to need it. It's as if I don't function if I don't have it. I don't view it as an art form, as a method of expression. No, its a disease. Plain and simple.
We cut to a shot of what it is he's looking at. It's a girl, sitting on the ground. She's bleeding, from her head, and sobbing uncontrollably. With almost no mercy, John grabs her by her hair and tosses her halfway across the room.
John(Voice over): But I've never felt the need to be cured. Never wanted a change. Never, that is, until this morning. When I heard the news about the girl in Europe. Her and her baby.
John continues to stare at the girl, and then calmly picks a hammer up from on the work bench. He walks over to her, never once taking his eyes off of her.
John(Voice over): They're saying Christ has returned.
He raises the hammer into the air, eyes still on her. Then, suddenly, he brings it back down.
John (Voice over): Its about time.
But before we get to see any sort of impact, we cut to John in his bathroom, scrubbing the blood off of his hands. When we see his face has speckles of blood on it as well.
John(Voice over): I don't know what it means, what it stands for. But there is something more to this. I just hope...
John stops scrubbing his hands and looks into the mirror. We can see it in his eyes, he wants to change.
John(Voice over): I just hope I can find forgiveness.
