So what are people actually doing to promote this site?

I contacted a few big name film news sites asking them to advertise or at least mention this site. No luck.

But what is everyone else doing? Just out of curiousity. I wanna know if I can help more. Because this site is not what it once was. I remember a time when we had a good 25 members posting a day.

And I am worried. I wanna post a script and if it doesn't get read or someone barely glances at it and gives me a "it was good. Wanna see more" kinda review I honestly think I'd give up on this site. I do my best to contribute on this site and read people's work word to word.

But it just feels empty these last few months. We need young blood in. The older members are off to uni, working, getting on with life.

Ideas? Anything I can do?

There was talk of affiliating with another site. But it hasn't gone beyond just talking as of yet. gonna prompt them and see if we can make it happen.

I think right now, the best thing to do, is just try and keep the steady activity we've had recently. Get some new material, get a few reviews in, keep threads posted regularly. And the visitors (and we are getting them) that find the suit through google or whatever that drop in might be more inclined to register and stay.

But obviously a little advertising wouldn't hurt. If you're on other forums, putting a link to movie reels in your signature or something. Linking to the site in other places wouldn't hurt either. The site grew from word of mouth, or some pithy typing variation of that. So more of that. I think we need people that like to read more than anything right now, who wouldn't mind leaving comments on people's work. So if you know anybody like that, appeal to them.

This is literally the only forum I've ever been on where it has hugely passionate members, that also don't do jack shit to fix the situation they moan and complain about.

Yeah, that's why I wanna know what more I can do to help. I'm on a media course and I've told literally everyone, all 50 members of the bloody course about this site. Not one of them wants to write or join this site... Fools.

Plus, I did try IGN and Dark Horizons about a merge or mention and no luck. I've kinda whittled off other forums lately. The only other forum i'm an active member of would kill me or advertising. :/

It's just a matter of people actually doing what they say they're going to do. We can all say we're gonna be active, but if nobody actually is, then whats the point?

Maybe if we get some reviews up for The Long Coats, and then some more actual scripts, people would be more inclined to participate.

It honestly seems like nobody wants to do something because it would go unnoticed, which is a legitimate concern.
