From the writer that brought you nothing in recent memory... PLANET OF THE APES
Plot: Forty years after the recent (and poorly titled) film "Rise of the Planet of the Apes," the virus that increases intelligence in apes and is fatal to humans has spread and killed billions. The few remaining humans have been driven into hiding by apes. The aged leader of their revolution, Caesar, is on the way out of power thanks to a rising dangerously anti-human faction. Amidst all of this, one human rises up from exile to lead his people against oppression.
------------------------------------------------
So I sparked an idea and wrote about a four page outline a few days ago and I just loved it. Since then I've written a small part of the script. There is no space / time travel in this and the lead human has been raised in this society all his life rather than being an outsider. Think Planet of the Apes influenced by Heat and Braveheart. I have extremely high hopes for this thing as every time I write I find myself getting even more wrapped up in it. You don't really have to have seen the new Apes movie to understand it at all. I also have a few other plans in terms of spin-offs or a television series, but first I shall actually finish this damn thing and put it out here.

Woo! Huge fan of the Apes series. Even the shitty sequels have a charm over me. So I shall totally read this.

Thanks for the kind words my friends. I'll say that this has a different feel compared to other movies in the franchises and the protagonist is just a man born among the ape-dominant society. Caesar, who leads the revolution in the Franco movie, is all but worshipped among apes now, but finds himself one of the few trying to stop the genocide of the remaining humans. I think I've come up with some very interesting characters and I've definitely never been this interested in a writing project before.
