And hereeeeee weeeeeeee go-
Ok, we all joke and bully little Indy. We give him hell. But when it comes to his filmed shorts he is unbested. I really enjoy sitting down with a cuppa tea and sticking an Indy film on because I'll know I enjoy it.
Visually the film is actually very interesting. I'm not sure if it was a conscious decision but the film has a very documentary feel about it. Its shot handycam with all the natural jerks and shakes you'd expect, kinda dogme style. A lot is out of focus but this actually creates a visual treat making the film feel very personal. Also a lot of shots are from corners, close up, cramped places with adds to the personality of the film. In a sense, since the film is questioning reality, the style of shooting adds to the confusion of time and space because shots are often too close or shot from unusual positions. Sounds like a criticism but its quite the opposite. As I said, a visual treat.
And kudos to the lead man before really believing his role. Very natural acting.
And I've said it before but as well as being a wonderful director Indy also has a great skill in editing. His location jumps are perfectly timed.
Plot and writing wise its fancinating. Dont wanna say too much about it because its a short and I dont want to ruin anything, but I will say it reminded me very much of Nolans Inception and Memento.
All see it. It'll take ten minutes out of your day, so fucking make time. Well done Indy.
