So, with the slight pick up in activity. I think an award show, which we've all enjoyed in the past should be forthcoming. Also, with the podcast it seems like a a good format to pull it off in.
Just throwing it out there. If we can get 3 - 5 more films released before Christmas. We'll do one for the start of the New Year. Just wanted the gauge the interest.

I predict a dozen movie announcements will be made in the near future. A total of two of them will make it to the Cineplex. Of those, one will be delayed two months. The winner of the Reelies will be the writer of the one film that makes the deadline. Like you guys said in the Reelcast, we're a bunch of lazy asses.
I jest. I'd love it if we could actually have another full-on Reelies and I think the Reelcast is a great way to do it. Theoretically, you guys could record it in the morning and post it that night to maintain the air of secrecy. (For some reason, I never liked how in the past award winners were decided a month before the show since presenters needed time to film and submit their segments.) And basically anything since the last award show could get a nomination so there could end up being a decent number of possible winners.

Route 66 will be out in December. That being said, since there is such a shortage of films (though it will hopefully improve next year) what about like a Movie Reels Best award show? Where we can have the same sort of categories but nominations of ANY film, tv show, character, poster etc. ever released on MR can be submitted? It would help with the excitement of the site, revisting our old films which in-turn might help bring back passion to some of us and we could skip the disappointing turnout of a Reelies with so very few films to choose from? AND it would also be nice if we could try to get every old member any of us can get in contact with to come back, submit films/make presentations and join us in enjoying a cool show. Just a thought  |

Just a thought That sounds good - maybe like a couple "Movie Reels Legacy" awards for old movies/shows. As for movies, my short "Bergman's Choice" will be out in a week or so, and I'm hoping to get both "The Banned" and "The Smugglers of Death" finished by Christmas. |
