The scene shows Greg Gumbel and George Grande by themselves in a newsroom. They both look toward the camera.
George: George Grande alongside Greg Gumbel today for the world premiere of AthletiCenter. We have been offered money from a famous movie director, but we have decided to do this without pay. If you have any feedback whatsoever about our show, please feel free to call or write in about what you liked or didn't like.
Greg: And now to news.
A Colorado Rockies logo appears on screen at the top right corner.
George: The Colorado Rockie have made two signings recently. They have signed Scott Podsednik and Victor Zambrano. Scott Podsednik was lead off man for the 2005 World Series champion White Sox. Also they acquired veteran right hander Victor Zambrano. Both have Minor League contracts with invitations to Major League camp.
Podsednik, 31, had 40 or more steals each season from 2003 to 2006. Due to injuries he only played 62 games for the White Sox last season. He has a .243 batting average and .299 on-base percentage, and was 13-for-18 on steal attempts.
Podsednik will play most likely on the days Willy Taveras rests. Podsednik is competing with Ryan Spilborghs and Cory Sullivan. Podsednik will make $700,000 if he plays in the majors. While only 13,000 a month if he play AAA.
The screen changes over to a different angle.
Greg: Randy Moss and Tom Brady have decided to not show up for the Pro Bowl, Tom Brady for an injured ankle.
George: Yes, Tom Brady has said that his ankle is too sore to play in the Pro Bowl, and Randy Moss is not going for personal reasons.
Greg: And Shaquille O'Neal is to be traded to the Suns this week. Pending a physical, our sources say, Shaquille O'Neal with definitely be going to the Suns. The Miami Herald reports that Shaq will be going to Phoenix to get an MRI on his hip, and if everything looks OK, he will be going to the Suns, and Shawn Marion and Marcus Banks will be going to the Miami Heat.

The camera pans in on George Grande and Greg Gumbel sitting at their sportscast table, looking straight at the camera.
George: The estranged wife of LA Dodgers' coach Don Mattingly has been arrested after being charged with being intoxicated in public and disorderly conduct. Sources say that his drunken wife was on his property and refused to leave, so he called authorities to come and get her.
Greg: The couple filed for divorce in November, but the divorce is yet to be finalized.
George: In an affidavit signed by Deputy Chad Howard, it read that she smelled of alcohol and she screamed at officers.
The two of them look down and up again, right back at the camera.
George: The Green Bay Packers have signed Head Coach Mike McCarthy to a 5-year deal, which will last through 2012. McCarthy, who had one year left on his original contract with the Pack had reportedly agreed to a new contract last month, which will give him about $4 million per season.
Greg: Also, the Milwaukee Bucks have snapped a three-game skid, winning over the Grizzlies. Andrew Bogut, the Center, went 5-14, with two made free throws and scoring 12 points.
George: The final score was 102-97.
Greg: In hockey, Marty Turco is changing his mental approach to playing. He says that he is going to be softer on his teammates in the locker room, too. He says this attitude will help him in the long run.
George: You can't really say that this new attitude isn't working, either. He stopped 22 shots in 65 combined minutes, and leading the Stars to a 3-2 win, he denied the Vancouver Canucks 6 shootout attempts. He has stopped 92 out of 97 shots in their past four wins, and the team thinks that they are due to be getting a lot better results.
Greg: And last but not least, the Daytona 500 is approaching quickly and surely. Some drivers are just the same as they were, while other drivers are adjusting. New teams, new cars, and new models.
George: The prime example of changing is Dale Earnhardt, Jr. He is switching over from Dale Earnhardt Industries, which belonged to his late father, late in his racing career, and now belongs to Teresa Earnhardt.
Greg: Dale left after being denied 51% ownership of DEI and now he races for the dominant Hendrick Motorsports. He is driving the number 88 car, sponsored by Mountain Dew and Amp energy drinks.
George: Everyone is very excited to see how this turns out, after Earnhardt narrowly missed the Chase for the Cup last year, and he plans to try to win the new Sprint Cup this year.
Greg: Well, that's all for today, don't forget to catch us on channel 801 daily for all your important sports news.
The two men look into the camera as the scene fades out.
