(The camera opens up to a deep and eerie forest. The trees dot the land densely, and we can see the rough forest floor, which is lined with various roots and shrubs. The camera pans up and out of the forest to the deep sky, the clouds still floating in the dark blue sea of nothingness. The clouds in the center split apart slowly as the camera moves, and we see a full moon, round and ghostly white. A spine tingling howl is heard from the background as the camera cuts down to the forest below.)
(We see a couple in the woods by their tent. It is in a small campsite, with a fire, and a cooler. The couple sits by the fire, staring out into the woods after the howl; the woman has a nervous look on her face.)
Woman: Frank, what was that?
(The man looks around intently, and gulps as he turns to answer his wife)
Frank: I don’t know Jenny, it sounded like an animal. I’m sure we will be fine, let’s get in the tent.
(Another howl erupts from the forest, sounding closer to the pair. The camera switches to a different vision, looking through the animal’s eyes. Through them we can see the camp, with the couple standing by the fire, frightened. The camera moves closer to the campfire, and a growl emits from the background. The couple spins around, and is petrified at what they see. Suddenly we dash forward and leap on the pair as the camera cuts to black.)
THE WOLFMAN
(The camera fades out into a small looking town, rural, and very friendly. A wide dirt road stretches through the middle of town as people walk through this rural town. The camera moves forward, getting good views of the people, and stops by a bar, where a man walks in. We can only see his jean pants and boots. The camera follows the man inside, and he walks over to the bar where two other men are sitting enjoying beers. The man we followed hops up into a chair, and we can see his face. He is rugged looking, with scraggy brown hair. One of the men he sits next to is handsome with blonde hair. The guy next to him has short black hair, and is clean shaven.)
Brown Hair: Joey, Alex.
Alex (Blonde Hair): Sam, how‘s it going?
Joey: Hey man.
Sam: It’s good so far. Got a date tonight.
Alex: Oh, looks like we got a bite. Tonight is the night you reel it up, and take home your trophy.
Joey: Do it for me Sam, you know how lonely I get.
(All 3 men laugh as Sam orders a beer)
Sam: So what’s new with you guys, huh?
Alex: Not much really.
Joey: Same old. So, uh, who are you going out with Sam?
Sam: Mary.
Alex: Ohooooo, you’ve been after her since what, high school?
Sam: Ha-ha yea. She’s bringing a friend though.
Joey: Play your cards right and you’ll be wrangling two animals tonight.
Alex: Who’s she bringing?
Sam: A girl named Lindsay. I don’t know her, so.
Alex: Well good luck tonight Sam, hopefully it works out.
Joey: Call me if it doesn’t.
(Alex slaps Joey in the back of the head as we fade to black. The camera opens up again to Sam who is getting dressed up in his bathroom. A TV plays in the background)
TV Voice: ….another grisly murder last night. This is the third in the past month. All of them have been in the forest surrounding town, and rangers are on the guard. They caution every person who wishes to step into the forest to be on alert, and carry some protection. We will have more on this story later.
Sam: Well, better take this.
(Sam grabs a switchblade from his counter, and slips it into his pocket. Sam finishes buttoning up his shirt, and grabs a sports jacket from a hanger. He picks up his keys and exits his house, locking the door behind him. Sam walks over to his car, a black Honda Civic, and enters. The car starts up, and he pulls out of the driveway, and starts driving. The camera cuts to a house where the Civic pulls into. Sam goes up and rings the doorbell, and is greeted by a naturally beautiful woman. She has long dark brown hair, and green eyes.)
Sam: Hey Mary.
Mary: Sam, how are you? Let me get Lindsay, and we can head out, alright?
(Mary walks back into the house, leaving Sam in her doorway. Shortly after, she comes walking back with Lindsay, who is blonde haired and average build. Sam smiles)
Sam: Shall we?
(The trio walks down to Sam’s car. Mary in the passenger seat, and Lindsay in the back.)
Sam: Where exactly are we going?
Mary: I thought maybe a walk in the woods. You know, with our gallant gentlemen to protect us.
Sam: Hah…
Lindsay: Oh come on Sam.
Sam: Alright, your call boss.
(Sam pulls out, as the camera fades to a parking lot. Sam parks and the trio steps out of the car. They are close to the forest, and Sam looks out with a face of nervousness. Mary steps up to him, and puts her arm around his back.)
Mary: Oh Sam, you’re always so careful. You’ve been like this since High School. Have some fun.
Sam: 20 years of this practice doesn’t help. Let’s go.
(The two girls wrap hook their arms in Sam’s as they walk down the path into the forest. It’s night time, and the moon is full in the sky. They keep on walking down the road until they hear a howl.)
Lindsay: Did you hear that?
Mary: Yea….sounded like an animal.
Sam: Let’s keep moving.
(They continue walking down the path until Lindsay stops.)
Lindsay: Uh guys, can you wait a second; I have to go to the bathroom.
(Lindsay runs off into the bushes, leaving Sam and Mary alone.)
Mary: So, you have a change of heart?
Sam: What do you mean?
Mary: You never asked me out in High School, I was wondering why now.
Sam: I grew a pair.
(Their conversation is interrupted by another howl, and then an ear splitting scream)
Mary: Lindsay? What was that?
Sam: Stay here!
Mary: Sam, wait!
(Sam runs off, following Lindsay. He finds her in a clearing, only she’s lying limp on the dirt, and is being eaten by a large dog or wolf. Sam charges the wolf, knocking it off the dead girl. The two fight, the wolf overpowering Sam. Sam throws it off, but before he can react, the wolf pounces back on him, and bites into his shoulder. Sam screams in pain, and rips the wolf off. He pulls out his switch blade, and as the wolf comes back, Sam stabs it in the throat, killing it. Sam grabs his bitten shoulder, and stumbles backwards, collapsing onto a tree. Meanwhile, Mary runs through the bushes, looking for Sam.)
Mary: Sam! Where are you! Sam!
(She finds the injured Sam by the tree, and rushes over, and cradles his head in her lap.)
Mary: What happened?
Sam: A wolf….bit me…killed Lindsay…..
(He becomes unconscious as Mary calls for help. A park ranger runs over.)
Ranger: I was alerted by the screams, what happened?
Mary: He was attacked by a wolf, please, help me take him home.
Ranger: Of course.
(We fade out, and fade in the next morning. Sam lies in his bed, but slowly awakens, only to find Joey by his bed.)
Sam: Joey….?
Joey: Sam, you’re awake. What happened last night?
Sam: How’s Mary, did anything happen to her? And Lindsay!
Joey: Sam, Mary is fine….but Lindsay….she’s dead.
Sam: The wolf! It killed her!
Joey: Wolf? Sam, there wasn’t a wolf found at the scene. There was a man, and they found your knife next to him.
Sam: A man…..I swear it was a wolf! You have to believe me!
(A police officer enters the room. He looks gruff and hard.)
Officer: Mr. Miller, I’m Officer Brown. Your friend Joey here has been looking over you through the night.
Sam: What is it officer?
Brown: Sam, to be quite honest with you, I need answers. I have two dead people and your knife at the scene. The girl was severely mangled, but the man had a deep cut near his heart.
Sam: Are you trying to tell me that I killed a man! I saw a wolf! A wolf god damn you!
Joey: Officer, please, he’s just woken up. I’m sure it was very dark last night, Sam heard a scream, and went off to help.
Brown: It doesn’t change the fact that two people are dead and a weapon of his was found by the bodies. Mr. Miller, I’ll give you until tomorrow. If anything you know comes up, tell me right away.
(Officer Brown leaves as Sam gives him a look that could put him on Death Row.)
Joey: Sam, exactly what happened last night? Tell me the truth. I’m not going to go to the cops.
Sam: We were walking through the woods, and we heard a howl. Lindsay had to go to the bathroom, and being in the middle of the woods, had nowhere to go. About a minute later, I heard another howl, and then a scream. I ran over, and saw this massive animal, a wolf, eating her. So I attacked it. We fought, it bit me on the shoulder, and then I killed it with my dad’s knife.
Joey: Where’s the bite.
Sam: Right here.
(Sam takes off his shirt, but there is no sign of the wound. He looks astonished as Joey looks closer.)
Sam: I swear I was bitten…Joey you have to believe me!
Joey: Sam…I’m sure you did what was right, but please, don’t go making yourself look crazy!
(After an intense and awkward stare down, Joey gets out of the chair, and leaves Sam in his room. We fade to black, but reopen later at the bar, where Sam walks in. Miller sees Alex at the bar, and walks over.)
Sam: Hey man.
Alex: Hey, how are you doing?
Sam: Not so good. I feel hazy, and my shoulder is killing me.
Alex: Where the imaginary bite is, huh?
Sam: I’m sorry I can’t prove it, but I was attacked by a wolf!
(Mary walks up to them, and takes a seat next to Sam.)
Mary: Sam….I…
Sam: Don’t even try to tell me. I know what I fucking did. I killed a god damn wolf.
Mary: No, Sam, listen.
Sam: No, you listen! I’m tired of being told something that isn’t true. I’ve listened to long, and too much.
Alex: Sam, come on man, just calm down.
Sam: DO YOU WANT ME TO FUCKING CALM DOWN?
Bartender: Sir, can you please quiet down, or I’m going to have to ask you to leave.
Sam: No need to ask me to leave, because I’m gone. Talk to me when it’s worth it.
(Sam storms out of the bar, leaving Mary with a tear in her eye. Alex sighs and pats her back. We follow Sam out of the bar, and look up into the sky. The moon is rising, and it’s full. Suddenly Sam stops and grabs his shoulder in pain.)
Sam: Damnit!
(He continues walking back to his house, and rips open the door. Sam constantly holds his shoulder, and looks like he is in serious pain. He quickly runs up the stairs, and walks into the bathroom, flipping on the lights. Through a window in the background, we can see the full moon has risen completely. Sam takes off his shirt, and we see the cause of his pain. His wound has reappeared, two red marks on his shoulder, stretching for about 7 inches. Sam touches the seemingly bloody wound, but there is no blood on his hand. He brings his hand up to his face, and rubs it, only to find fur growing.)
Sam: What…..
(We see the fur growing more and more, and suddenly Sam is taken back in pain, crashing into the wall.)
Sam: NO!
(The hair continues to grow until it completely covers his body. Canine features grow on his face, but there is no long snout. You can still see some of Sam’s facial features, most prominent his blue eyes. He has sharp fangs in his mouth, and claws replacing his fingernails. The new Wolf-Man bends over forwards, like he is stalking his prey. He walks out of the bathroom, and creeps down the steps. The door to his house is still open after Sam’s outburst. The Wolf-Man creeps through the door, his eyes jutting back and forth, looking for prey. He goes around the side of the house, and into the woods behind it. We now get a full shot of the Wolf-Man. He walks on his toes, his arms at the ready. His furry, canine head twitches back and forth, searching. Up ahead is a jogger taking a break on a dirt road. Sam creeps up behind a tree, waiting.)
Jogger: What was that?
(Sam howls, and the jogger looks over at him, petrified by the approaching wolf-man.)
Jogger: What…NO!
(Sam dashes forward, grabbing the jogger by the shoulders, and bites down into his neck. He dies in The Wolf-Man’s clawed hands as Sam drops him on the path, looking for more prey. We fade to black as Sam creeps through the forest. The next day we fade back in to find Sam lying in bed, ragged looking. He lies across the bed, his hair a mottled mess, and isn’t wearing a shirt. He wakes up, looking dead tired, and half heartedly switches on the television.)
Reporter: A jogger was found dead this morning on the path by the woods. Officials have only released the cause of death, which was blood loss caused by a torn jugular. More on this as it is updated.
Sam: Oh no….
(A knock on his door gets his attention. Sam picks a shirt up and puts it on, and goes to answer the door. Mary is standing there, and looks at Sam sadly.)
Sam: Mary….
Mary: Sam, I just wanted to talk about last night.
Sam: Yea, come in.
(Mary enters, and Sam shuts the door behind her.)
Mary: I just wanted to apologize for upsetting you. It was a very strange and upsetting night, and I shouldn’t have wound you up.
Sam: You shouldn’t be apologizing. I flipped out on you and Alex, but you have to believe me. Last night, something terrible and strange happened.
Mary: I heard, that poor jogger was killed.
Sam: Mary, last night I transformed into a wolf. I killed him!
Mary: What are you talking about?
Sam: That wolf that bit me, they said the body of a man was found there. It bit me; he was a werewolf, now I am too! Last night, I couldn’t control what was happening!
Mary: Sam you’re getting upset over this, please, don’t act like this!
Sam: I’m not lying to you. I am a werewolf!
Mary: Sam, I love you as a friend, but please, you’re talking nonsense!
Sam: Don’t believe me then, but as the bodies start piling up, you’ll know I was right!
(A tear drips from Mary’s eye, and she storms out of the house. Sam grabs his hair distressfully, and punches a wall violently.)
Sam: WHY ME!
(Sam begins to break down, and sits down in his hallway, sobbing. We cut to a small house at the edge of town. A man sits in the house, a rifle on his lap, and piles of various books on his desk. From the titles, we can see he is obsessed with monsters, especially werewolves.)
Man: Looks like I’ve finally gotten a job.

(From the smirking man we cut to Joey and Alex in Alex’s car.)
Joey: I don’t know what is going on with Sam. Did he really flip out at the bar?
Alex: Yea, it was bad. I feel bad for the man, thrown into situations like this. He’s never been so upset.
(Joey’s phone rings, and he answers it. He has a short conversation on the phone)
Joey: Alright, yea. I’ll see you there.
Alex: Who was that?
Joey: Mary, she says Sam is talking more nonsense about werewolves.
Alex: So where are we heading?
Joey: Police station.
Alex: Are we turning him in?
Joey: No, just the opposite. Mary is trying to get the police off of him.
(The two drive to the station, and park. They see Mary by the steps.)
Mary: Thanks for coming.
Alex: Yea, we need to help.
(They walk into the station, where Officer Brown stands with a distinguished man in a suit.)
Brown: Look who it is. How can I help you three?
Joey: We want you to stop this on going investigation of Sam, and let him be. The man is obviously confused and upset, and you’re not helping the situation.
Brown: That is why I have this man. This is Doctor Lloyd, a psychiatrist.
Lloyd: Nice to meet you.
Alex: Wait, why is he here?
Brown: Doctor Lloyd is a specialist on murder cases, and helping those involved. It would be best for Sam if the doctor helped him.
Joey: Sam isn’t fucking insane, he just needs to be left alone by you and your ridiculous case.
Brown: I’m not sure if you’ve noticed, but three people are dead in the past two days, and your friend Sam is right in the middle of it.
Mary: For Christ’s sake leave him alone! He doesn’t need a psychiatrist.
(Just then a man walks into the station, wearing jeans, boots and a leather jacket. The man has a rugged look about him.)
Man: No. What he needs is a hunter.
Alex: Who the hell are you?
Man: I’m known as John Chatham.
Joey: Look Crocodile Dundee, we don’t need you.
Chatham: You’re a funny one, eh?
(John punches Joey right in the jaw, dropping him. Alex goes to kick the crap out of him, but Brown holds him back.)
Mary: Who the hell do you think you are?
Chatham: I’m a hunter. A werewolf hunter.
Brown: What is all this werewolf nonsense?
Chatham: Nonsense? Officer, let me present my case before you shoot it down, just like what you are going to try and do to this man.
Lloyd: Miller must be examined. Let me have a word with him before you go around making accusations.
Chatham: I’m telling you, what we have here is a werewolf.
Brown: That’s ridiculous. Werewolves are old folk legends. They don’t exist.
(Joey, Mary and Alex leave the police station, defeated in their attempt to help Sam.)
Mary: Sam said something about being a werewolf to me earlier but I didn’t think anything of it.
Joey: Mary, please, just let him be.
Alex: Joey, Sam needs help, just not the type of help that dumbass is trying to give him.
(Mary looks visibly upset as they get into their respective cars and pull out. We cut back to the station.)
Brown: Chatham, what are you proposing?
Chatham: This man, Sam Miller, is a werewolf.
Lloyd: That’s ridiculous.
Chatham: Officer, tell me, what did you find at the scene of the crime?
Brown: Two bodies.
Chatham: Exactly how were the bodies? Injuries, positioning, you know.
Brown: The girl was laying on her back, her throat torn, and many deep cuts on her body. The man had a deep stab wound near his heart.
Chatham: The girl, you say her throat was torn, right?
Brown: Yes, it was gruesome. Her jugular was ripped.
Chatham: So was this jogger that was killed last night.
Brown: I heard about that.
Chatham: Listen, I doubt this Sam Miller would rip open a jugular with a simple switchblade. An animal - a wolf- bit into their throats.
Lloyd: Surely you don’t believe this. Turning into a werewolf, with it’s physical characteristics is impossible, but anything is possible in a man’s own mind. Officer, let me talk to Miller.
Brown: Of course doctor. Chatham, stay at the station.
(Lloyd leaves the station, and gets into his car. He pulls out of the lot, and heads down the street. We cut to Brown and Chatham.)
Chatham: Please, Officer, you must believe me. All of these signs lead me to believe there are super natural forces at work.
Brown: I don’t know why I am listening to you. Once Lloyd returns, we will decide what to do.
Chatham: Fair enough.
(John leaves the station as we cut to Sam’s house. Miller sits on his couch, watching the television intently. His doorbell rings, and Sam walks over to the door. He opens it up, and there stands Doctor Lloyd.)
Sam: Who are you?
Lloyd: I am Doctor Lloyd, a psychiatrist specialized on murders.
Sam: I don’t need your help.
Lloyd: It’s either me or prison, Sam.
Sam: Fine….come in.
(The two enter Sam’s house, with Miller being wary of the doctor.)
Sam: Police send you?
Lloyd: Yes. I am not going to arrest you or turn you in though. I simply want to investigate your brain.
Sam: So you’re a shrink who helps murderers. Well you’re in the right place doc.
Lloyd: What is that Sam?
Sam: Because last night I killed a man. That jogger you all heard about on the tv.
Lloyd: How did you kill him Sam? Why?
Sam: I didn’t want to. Last night, I changed into a wolf. A werewolf.
Lloyd: I see.
Sam: Please, you must believe me! I can’t keep on living like this! Put me out of my misery!
Lloyd: I can’t help you with that Sam, but I can help you stay sane.
Sam: Sane? Oh I am sane. It’s all of you idiots that don’t believe me!
Lloyd: Sam, I will come back tomorrow. Please, tell me the truth.
(Lloyd leaves the house as Sam stands frustrated in his living room.)
Sam: This is getting ridiculous.
(Sam walks over to a mirror, and looks into his own eyes.)
Sam: Why can’t they believe me?
(The screen fades to Mary’s house where the pretty girl is sitting down on her couch. Her doorbell rings, and Mary walks over to get it. She opens the door to find Sam, all dressed up.)
Sam: Mary.
Mary: Sam…can I help you?
Sam: I wanted to apologize. Can we go for a walk?
Mary: Yea. Let’s go.
(Sam takes Mary’s arm as the two begin walking. The sun is beginning to set. The pair walks up the road.)
Sam: I have to apologize for the way I’ve been acting. It’s just been one clusterfuck of events, and I couldn’t handle it.
Mary: Sam, nobody is blaming you. We’re all trying to help you.
Sam: The psychiatrist said the same thing.
Mary: So you met Doctor Lloyd?
Sam: Yea. He doesn’t believe me either. Nobody does. But I’m not lying.
Mary: Sam, it’ just outlandish to say you’re werewolf, but you do have one believer.
Sam: Who?
Mary: Joey, Alex and I were at the station earlier, trying to get Brown to let you go, and this weird man stepped in. He said he was a hunter, and believed you were a werewolf.
Sam: A hunter?
Mary: He said the only way to stop you was to kill you.
Sam: He is correct. Werewolves can only be killed by something made of silver. Like a bullet, or cane, or a blade. That’s how I killed the wolf in the woods. My dad’s switchblade was silver.
Mary: Sam, please, you aren’t a werewolf.
Sam: But I am Mary. You have to trust me. Here, I want you to have this.
Mary: What is it?
(Sam pulls out a silver necklace, with a pentagram on the chain.)
Sam: It’s the pentagram, it will protect you?
Mary: From whom?
Sam: Me.
Mary: Sam, I can’t take this without giving you something back. Here’s a dollar.
Sam: Isn’t enough.
(Sam and Mary go in to kiss, but suddenly, Sam’s spazzes backwards in pain, clutching his shoulder.)
Mary: What is it?
Sam: No time! Go Mary! Please, run!
Mary: But Sam!
Sam: GO!
(Mary looks at Sam longingly, but obeys him and runs towards the town. Sam begins to stumble backwards, jogging to the edge of the forest. He trips and falls over a root, and looks up at the moon, which is full and in the sky. The change begins. Fur sprouts on Sam’s face, and his fangs grow in. The claws are back on his hand, and the Wolf-Man now stands up, ready to stalk his prey. The Wolf-Man creeps into town, covered by nightfall. Nobody is on the streets, as cautioned by the police, but this doesn’t stop the Wolf Man. He stalks through the small alleys, looking for something to sink his teeth into. And he finds his pray. A woman slams open her door, shouting at someone inside.)
Woman: You are a fucking piece of shit, ya hear me? Don’t talk to me ever again!
Voice: Fine you slut! Get the hell out of here!
Woman: Lousy piece of shit.
(The woman begins to walk down the street, frustrated by her argument. Sam follows her, stalking behind walls and any other obstacle. The woman drops her purse.)
Woman: God dammit.
(Just then, Sam springs out of his hiding spot, and grabs the woman from behind. His strength overwhelms her, and bites down into her jugular. The woman dies, blood seeping out of the wound. The Wolf-Man drags her into an alley way. Off of her finger slips a silver ring, which falls onto Sam’s chest. The ring burns Sam, causing the Wolf-Man to drop the girl, and fall backwards in pain. The Wolf-Man begins squirming in agony as the silver burned into his flesh. He fights out of the alley, and howls in pain. Soon he stops struggling, and begins transforming back into Sam Miller. As luck would have it, Alex is walking home from the bar, and sees Sam lying face down.)
Alex: Oh shit.
(Alex runs over to Sam, checking on his fallen friend. He finds him in ragged clothes, and blood stains on his shirt.)
Alex: Sam….
(Alex walks behind the alley, and sees the dead woman.)
Alex: My God….
(He walks back to Sam, and lifts him up. Alex helps him back all the way to his house, where he sets Sam on the couch. Alex immediately picks up his phone, and calls Joey.)
Alex: Joey, get over here right away, get Mary too. There’s no time to talk. It’s about Sam.
(Alex hangs up the phone and goes to check on Sam. We cut back to the death scene, where Chatham crouches over the body, smirking.)
Chatham: Fresh kill mate.
(John walks back over, and can see the foot and dragging prints in the dirt road. He follows them back, his rifle slung over his back. We cut back to Alex’s house where Sam is just starting to stir.)
Sam: What…..where am I?
Alex: Sam, you’re awake!
Sam: Alex?
Alex: Sam, listen to me carefully. I found you in an alley way a few blocks away. There was a body of a woman near you, her throat torn out.
Sam: Oh no…
Alex: What?
Sam: Alex, I killed her. I’m a werewolf. Listen, I can explain it all. The wolf I killed was a werewolf as well, that’s why when you found his body, it was a man. My wound only shows up on full moons, like tonight. I change on full moons. Earlier tonight, I changed back because I was burned by silver, the only thing that can kill me. You have to believe me!
Alex: Where is your wound?
(Sam takes off his shirt, revealing the wound. Alex gasps and looks up at the full moon.)
Alex: Joey and Mary should be here soon, in the mean time, we will keep you safe. Here, let’s take you up…..
(Alex is cut off by a gun shot, exploding through the window. A circle of blood grows in the middle off his chest as he collapses to the ground, dead.)
Sam: ALEX!
(John Chatham walks through the doors, his rifle still smoking.)
Chatham: Looks like I found you, wolfy.
Sam: Who the fuck are you!
Chatham: I’m a werewolf hunter.
Sam: YOU JUST KILLED MY FRIEND YOU SON OF A BITCH!
(Sam gets up and tries to grab Chatham, but John moves out of the way, smacking him in the back of the head with his rifle butt. Sam falls over unconscious.)
Chatham: Not tonight mate.
(Chatham goes over to a desk, and grabs Alex’s car keys. John drags Sam to the garage, and opens Alex’s car. He throws Sam in the back seat, and hops in the driver’s seat. John pulls out of the garage, and speeds off in the night. Meanwhile, Joey and Mary pull up to Alex’s driveway, unaware of Chatham’s act. The two walk up to the door, and see that the window is busted, and the door left open.)

Joey: What the hell…
(They walk into the house, and gasp as they see Alex’s body on the floor.)
Joey: ALEX!
(Joey runs up to Alex’s body, and turns him over, but is too late. Alex’s limp head rolls into Joey’s lap as Mary sobs in the background.)
Joey (sobbing) : No…Mary, call the police.
(Mary pulls out her phone, and dials 911.)
Mary: Officer Brown? There’s been a death, please hurry! It’s Alex’s house, 54 North Road! Thank you.
(Joey continues sobbing at Alex’s death as Mary walks over and hugs Joey.)
Mary: He’ll be here right away. Who could have done this? Wait, whose shirt is this?
(Mary walks over to the couch, and sees Sam’s shirt. There is a splatter of blood on it, from when he killed the woman.)
Mary: Joey, this is Sam’s shirt! He wore this earlier tonight!
Joey: What?
Mary: Look, there’s blood on it…
Joey: It’s probably from when the son of a bitch shot Alex!
Mary: Sam didn’t shoot him!
Joey: How the hell do you know?
(Officer Brown bursts through the door with 2 other officers.)
Brown: My God…What happened?
Joey: He was shot.
Brown: Do you know by who?
Mary: No, we came in and saw the body.
Brown: Why are you here?
Joey: Alex said to get over here right away, said something about Sam. He was gasping and very quick.
Brown: Do you think Sam killed him?
Mary: No, he couldn’t have!
Officer 1: Brown, the garage door is open, and the car is missing.
Joey: The fucker stole his car too!
Mary: Joey, please! Officer Brown, is there anything you can do?
Brown: Not at the current time, but I promise you we will find the murderer.
(We fade away from the scene to Chatham’s house. Sam is still unconscious, laying on the floor. Chatham is sitting in a chair, watching the television. Sam begins to stir, and John looks over.)
Chatham: Looks like we’re up.
Sam: Where the fuck am I?
Chatham: At your resident werewolf hunter’s house.
Sam: You’re the one who shot Alex! Why did you take me? Why didn’t you end my curse?
Chatham: I didn’t want to shoot the man. But he would have gotten in my way. Your friends’ loyalty to you is astounding.
Sam: Never had any of them before, have you?
Chatham: I’ve lived an excluded life, Sam. It’s what happens when people don’t believe you.
Sam: Something we have in common. Why won’t you let me go, or kill me?
Chatham: If I let you go, you will kill more innocents, and I still won’t be able to show the truth. If I kill you, then I become a murderer.
Sam: You already are.
Chatham: Ah. Well, I can’t keep you here. If you transform, I’m dead. My silver bullets aren’t ready yet. So it’s back to your house.
Sam: What?
(Chatham takes his rifle butt, and hits Sam again in the head, knocking him out. The camera goes black, and we fade to the police station where Brown and Doctor Lloyd stand.)
Brown: How did the talk with Sam go?
Lloyd: Officer, Sam is what we call a lycanthrope.
Brown: The term is familiar. Can you refresh my memory doctor?
Lloyd: A Lycanthrope is a person who believes that they change into a wolf. It is a mental version of a werewolf, except the change never happens. Extreme cases can turn out to be fatal, with the patient actually behaving like an animal.
Brown: Miller?
Lloyd: I believe so. I am going back to check on him tonight. Hopefully we can get him through this.
Brown: Good. The poor guy has had a lot thrown on him. His friend Alex was shot and killed last night.
Lloyd: It keeps on getting worse, doesn’t it?
(The screen fades out of them to Joey’s house, where Joey is pacing around his hallway, on the phone with someone.)
Joey: Come on Sam, pick up.
(There is no answer.)
Joey: God dammit.
(Joey’s doorbell rings, and he goes to answer it. Mary stands at the front door, with a sad smile on her face.)
Mary: Hey Joey.
Joey: Yea, Mary.
Mary: Can I come in?
Joey: Oh, yea, of course.
(Mary walks in, and they go into the living room.)
Joey: Can I get you something?
Mary: No, I just wanted to stop by to tell you something.
Joey: Go ahead.
Mary: Last night, Sam gave me a silver necklace, and said it would protect me. We were about kiss, when he jumped back, grabbing his shoulder. He told me to run, and you could hear how desperate he was.
Joey: Uh…..Mary, please, you’re not believing this, are you?
Mary: I know that it’s foolish, but this is really starting to creep me out Joey. That Chatham guy really was determined to get Sam.
Joey: Wait….
Mary: What is it.
Joey: That son of a bitch!
Mary: What?
Joey: He killed Alex!
Mary: Chatham? Why?
Joey: To get Sam! Alex said he had Sam with him, Chatham must have been tracking Sam, he followed Alex back, and he saw his opportunity.
Mary: So now, Chatham has Sam?
Joey: Exactly. I don’t know what he is trying to do, but that sick fucker is up to something. Come on.
Mary: Where are we going?
Joey: The police station. We have to let Brown know about this.
(The two hop in Mary’s car, and drive off. The screen flashes to the parking lot where they pull in. Joey and Mary exit the car, and jog into the station. Brown is sitting by a desk, reading over paper work.)
Joey: Brown!
Brown: What, oh, it’s you two.
Mary: Officer, we believe it was Chatham who killed Alex.
Brown: The hunter guy? Why?
Joey: He has many reasons, but we can’t waste time. We have to get Sam. Do you know where John lives?
Brown: Yea, somewhere by the edge of town.
Joey: Let’s go.
(The screen fades to a room with a chair in the middle. Sam sits in the chair, securely strapped in with ropes and belts. Sam stirs, and wakes up.)
Sam: Where….this is my room….
(Sam looks around, and looks out the open window. The sky is dark, and the moon is starting rise.)
Sam: No…please…Gah!!!!!!
(Sam yells in pain, his shoulder throbbing. The fur begins to grow, and his canine features are taking over. Soon enough, The Wolf-Man is strapped in the chair. He growls roughly, and breaks free of the straps. Just then, we cut to the driveway, where Doctor Lloyd pulls in. He walks up to the front steps, and rings the doorbell. No answer. He rings it again. No answer. Lloyd sighs, and turns the handle. To his surprise, the door opens up, and he steps in.)
Lloyd: Sam? It’s Doctor Lloyd!
(There is no answer to his calls. Lloyd takes a look around, all the lights off. He begins walking up the steps, and flips the switch. The light’s don’t come on, Lloyd continues up the stairs.)
Lloyd: Sam Miller? Are you here? It’s Doctor Lloyd!
(We cut to a different camera angle, looking through a pair of eyes. We see Doctor Lloyd’s back, as we slowly creep towards it.)
Lloyd: Sam? Where are you?
(In the background, we see a figure slowly moving towards Doctor Lloyd. Even in the shadows, we can make out the distinct hunched stalking.)
Lloyd: Sam, it’s Doctor Lloyd, I’ve come t….
(The Wolf-Man grabs Lloyd from behind, causing a shriek of pure fright and surprise to erupt from the doctor’s mouth. That is cut short as The Wolf-Man sinks his fangs into Lloyd’s neck, tearing his jugular, just like his other victims. Lloyd goes limp as the face of the Wolf-Man peers over his shoulder, and drops him on the floor. Sam crreps down the steps, then bursts through his door, creeping into the night.)
(We fade to a police car, pulling up to Chatham’s house. Joey, Mary, and Brown step out of the car, and immediately jog up to Chatham’s shack. Brown pounds on the door.)
Brown: This is the police! You are under arrest for murder. Open up, or we will be forced to take action.
(The door slowly opens, and Chatham is standing in the doorway.)
Chatham: So nice of you to join me. I didn’t think you all would be out by the woods on a full moon. There is a werewolf in town you know.
Joey: Cut the crap you son of a bitch. You killed Alex, and you’re going to pay.
Chatham: Figured me out, did you? Well, you are just in time for the show.
Mary: What show?
(Chatham pulls out his rifle, and shoots Officer Brown in the chest twice. Brown falls backwards, dead before he hits the ground.)
Joey: Holy shit….
(Joey charges Chatham, but John side steps him, and trips him to the floor. John points the gun at Joey’s face.)
Chatham: Girl, tell him not to move, or I will kill him.
Mary: I….uh….
Chatham: DO IT!
Mary: Joey…listen to him. Please…..
(Joey relaxes, and lays down.)
Chatham: Good boy. Now it is time to find your friend. He should be out. The ropes were only to keep his human form down.
Joey: He isn’t a werewolf.
Chatham: You say that now. Come, we’re going into the woods.
(Chatham prods the two with his rifle, leading them to the forest. They walk in between the trees, the full moon out in the sky.)
(We cut from the trio in the woods to the Wolf-Man, stalking through the forest. He walks on his toes, his toned down canine head searching from side to side, and his clawed arms out in front of him. Sam truly is a wolf-man, half man, half wolf. His blue eyes stand out, the only sign of his humanity. A soul trapped within this wolfish hell, not wanting to kill, but eagerly slaying at the same time. Sam stalks up ahead, and creeps behind a rock, and looks over it. He sees three shapes with in 50 yards.)
(The camera zooms closer to Chatham, Mary, and Joey, who stand in a small clearing. Fog is in the air, the stars are bright. The trees around them are gnarled and twisted, others are tall and straight. Chatham stands with his gun, and pulls out a bullet.)
Joey: What’s that?
Chatham: Silver bullet.
Mary: Silver?
Chatham: The only thing that can kill a werewolf.
Joey: For Christ’s sake, Sam is not a werewolf!
Chatham: Wait and see. I’m sure he has sensed us by now.
Mary: Why are we out here?
Chatham: Because I plan on showing you all that I have been right the entire time. I plan on becoming the hero. I am going to show you that werewolves exist, and then, I am going to slay him. And when he is on the ground, and he transforms back to his human form. The man you will see is Sam Mil….
(Out of nowhere, The Wolf-Man pounces on Chatham, grabbing him from behind. John scream sin terror, and tries fighting him off, but Sam over whelms him. Using all his power, the Wolf-Man throws John backwards, onto the ground. Chatham gets up, but Sam slams him backwards into the rock. John sees his eyes.)
Chatham: Told ya so….
(Sam tears into his throat, ripping it out. John’s head falls off it’s body, and rolls a few feet away. The wolf-man hops onto the rock, and howls, with the full moon in the back ground. Sam hops back down, and heads for Joey and Mary, who are close to petrified. Joey goes for the dropped gun, but Sam pounces onto him, and the two begin to struggle. Sam goes for the neck, but Joey grabs his arms, and tries pushing him off. Matthews rolls to the side, throwing Sam off of him. The both get up, but the Wolf-Man tackles him down. He then heads for Mary, who stands silent and frightened. Sam grabs her by the shoulders, and goes for the neck, but Mary’s silver necklace slips out of her shirt. The Wolf-Man hesitates, looking down at the silver, then back into Mary’s eyes.)
Mary: Sam?
(The Wolf-Man turns his attention back to the struggle, and is about to go for the kill when a gun shot is heard. His eyes widen, and he let’s Mary go, dropping her to the floor. The Wolf-Man stumbles backwards, clutching his chest. He stumbles a few feet more, and then collapses to the dirt ground.)
(Joey drops the gun, and hurries over to Mary, who is just sitting up.)
Joey: Mary, are you alright?
Mary: Yea…….Joey…..
(Mary stands up and hurries over to Sam, who has changed back to his human form. His eyes are shut, and his mouth is in a slight smile.)
Mary: Sam…..
(Joey walks over as Mary cradles Sam’s head in her lap, tears streaming down her face. Joey looks at his best friend’s face, as Mary continues to cry.)
Joey: I’m sorry Sam….
(The camera cuts back with Joey kneeling by Sam’s side, holding his limp hand, and Mary cradling his head. It zooms up, and we see the full moon as we fade to black.)
