(The cell doors open)
(A younger man, PHILLIP PIERCE, enters)
Phillip: Your execution is scheduled for Noon tomorrow.
(Michael is silent)
Phillip: Your friends will no doubt try to save you. I am sure that they are organizing their plans as we speak. They will die, Michael, as will you.
(Michael looks up at Phillip)
Michael: Are you sure?
Phillip: No…
(Phillip pulls out a gun and cocks it)
Phillip: But I’m not giving them the chance to save you.
(Phillip aims the gun at Michael)
(Cut to black)
(Gunshot)
ALL FOR ONE
(Fade to three men sitting around a table)
(The first one, MATTHEW ALLEN, begins to talk)
Matthew: Michael’s capture is a death blow to our Rebellion. His execution is set for Noon tomorrow. We have to save him. What do you think we should do?
(The second one, EVAN WELLS, begins)
Evan: The question is…what do we tell the people? Michael is the one who would always rally them together.
(The third, STEVEN FLETCHER, begins)
Steven: We are going to have to save Michael. The three of us…we can’t risk the lives of our entire covert Rebellion being destroyed if we try to use the sheer force of our numbers.
Matthew: Steven is right. Besides, it’s known that the Elite have spies amongst the forces of our Rebellion. Any massive attack plan would surely be leaked to the Elite and they would be prepared for battle. It would be a futile effort.
(The sound of gunfire fills the room)
(Matthew and Evan grab their guns)
(They run out of the room as the sound of gunfire continues)
Steven: Crap! I left my gun in my room.
(Steven runs out of the room)
(Pan to a huge auditorium)
(We see a shootout between Rebellion forces and Elite soldiers)
(Matthew is firing his gun at soldiers who are entering through the front)
(He ducks behind a wall)
(Steven ducks next to him)
Steven: Do you have an extra piece?
Matthew: What?!? No, I don’t have an extra! Where’s yours?
Steven: I…
(Matthew jumps from behind the wall and shoots the two closest soldiers)
(Matthew reloads and ducks back behind the wall)
Steven: I left it in my room!
Matthew: Well, go get it!!
(Steven jumps out from behind the wall)
(A hail of machine gun fire destroys everything around him)
(Steven jumps back behind the wall)
Steven: I don’t think that’s gonna work, Matthew!!
Matthew: Steven, sometimes…all right, there are two soldiers coming in on my right. We’re gonna do a snatch and shoot, okay?
Steven: A snatch and shoot? All right.
Matthew: In five seconds…
(Steven stands up)
Matthew: Four…
(The two soldiers get closer to the wall)
Matthew: Three…
(Matthew grips his gun tighter)
Matthew: Two…
(Matthew crouches down)
Matthew: One!

Steven: Now it’s time to have some fun!
(Steven runs out and shoots at the incoming soldiers with his two guns)
(Matthew and Steven are suddenly showered in glass)
(Elite soldiers are rappelling through the glass roof of the auditorium)
Matthew: I’ll take care of the ground! You take care of the sky!
Steven: Got it!
(Steven aims his two guns at the rappelling soldiers)
(He begins firing)
(Machine gun fire hits one of the rappelling soldiers)
(The rope breaks and the wounded soldier plunges to the floor)
(Steven continues firing)
(More soldiers fall to the ground)
(One of the rappelling soldiers shoots at Steven)
(Steven ducks as the soldier gets closer to the floor)
(The rappelling soldier is a few feet above the floor)
(He keeps firing at Steven)
Steven: I can’t get a shot in!
(Suddenly Evan jumps onto the soldier from behind)
(They dangle above the floor)
(Evan grabs his head and breaks his neck)
(Evan starts climbing up the rope and firing at rappelling soldiers)
Steven: Go, Evan!
Matthew: I need some help down here!
(Matthew shoots three more soldiers)
Matthew: I’m out!
(Steven throws Matthew the machine gun)
Steven: Take this!
(Matthew spins around the corner and starts firing)
(Evan is swinging on the rope and shooting soldiers)
(A man, GENERAL TANAKA, enters the building)
(He looks up at Evan)
General Tanaka: He’s one of the leaders. Shoot him down.
(Evan sees General Tanaka and fires a shot at him)
(The bullet barely misses him)
General Tanaka: Shoot him down NOW!
(All the Elite soldiers aim at Evan)
(Evan’s eyes widen as they begin firing)
(He jumps off of the rope)
(Bullets tear through his clothes)
(Evan lands hard on the floor)
Steven: Evan!
(Steven runs over to Evan)
(He throws Evan over his shoulder and starts running towards the exit)
(Evan’s blood drips down onto Steven’s shoulder)
Steven: We’ve gotta get out of here!!! Cover us!
(Matthew fires at the soldiers as Steven carries Evan out the back)
(Matthew follows them out the back door)
(Cut to a large snow-covered plain)
(Matthew and Steven run across the plain)
(They stop and rest)
(Steven lays Evan down on the snow)
Matthew: How bad is he hurt?
(Steven doesn’t answer)
Matthew: Is he dead?
Steven: No, he’s not dead. But he will be if we don’t find help.
Matthew: How did they know about the auditorium? There has to be an inside leak in the Rebellion.
Steven: They’re still fighting back there. One of the Rebellion members in that auditorium is the informant. But we can’t go back and see who’s not fighting the Elite. We’ve gotta get Evan some medical help.
Matthew: Yeah.
Steven: So where are we gonna take him?
Matthew: We’ll take him to the mall. The other Rebellion soldiers who escaped will most likely go there. We’ll also be able to find some medical help.
Steven: Here, you carry him some. I can’t do this the whole way.
(Cut to Matthew carrying Evan while Steven runs ahead)
Steven: Hurry up!
(Cut to a huge mall in the middle of a parking lot)
(Hundreds of people are walking in the mall)
(Pan through the back door and down some steps)
(Evan is lying on the hospital bed)
(Rebellion doctors are working on him)
Steven: Is he gonna be okay?
Doctor: Yeah, the bullet just grazed him, but he’s got a concussion from the fall. He’ll be fine.
(Cut to Matthew and Steven in the hallway)
Matthew: After Evan’s healed, we have to organize a plan. We have less than 24 hours.
Steven: Yeah.
Matthew: So what are we gonna do in the meantime?
Steven: I’m gonna go shopping.
(Cut to Steven and Matthew entering the mall)
(Steven walks over to the pretzel shop)
(Matthew goes into a department store)
(Cut to General Tanaka and a bunch of Elite soldiers)
(They walk through the back door of the mall)
(They go down the steps)
(Cut to Evan on the hospital bed)
(His eyes open)
(Cut to the doctor walking through the hallway)
(Silenced gunshot)
(The doctor falls to the ground)
(Elite soldiers go into the different rooms in the basement)
(Evan looks through the door and sees Elite soldiers)
(They are approaching the door)
(His gun is on the cabinet next to the hospital bed)
(Evan picks up the gun)
(He aims it at the door)
Evan: Not today.
(An Elite soldier kicks in the door)
(Evan shoots him and kicks the door closed)
(Machine gun fire comes through the door)
(Evan ducks to the side of the door)
(Another Elite soldier kicks in the door)
(Evan shoots him and jumps behind the hospital bed)
(Elite soldiers enter and fire at the hospital bed)
(Evan grabs the hospital bed and slides it into the soldiers)
(He leaps on top of the bed and starts shooting)
(He kicks his way out of the room and rolls down the hallway)
Evan: Last bullet.
(He shoots the closest soldier and grabs his gun while throwing his own)
(He rolls to the bottom of the steps going up into the mall)
(General Tanaka sees him)
General Tanaka: Shoot him!
(Elite soldiers fire at Evan as he enters the mall)
(He tucks the gun in his pants and blends in with the people)
(The Elite soldiers prepare to follow him)
General Tanaka: Don’t fire unless you actually see them. We don’t want to cause an unnecessary panic.
Soldier: Yes, sir.
General Tanaka: I’m heading back to the prison and checking on things there. I’ll call you with updates from our informant. Keep following them until you kill them.
(Cut to Matthew trying on some shoes)
(He goes up to the register with the shoe box)
Saleswoman: Is that all?
Matthew: Yeah.
Saleswoman: Your total is 125.
(Matthew pulls out a credit card)
Matthew: Things are just getting more and more expensive.
Soldier: There he is!
(Gunfire erupts in the department store)
(The saleswoman screams and ducks behind the counter)
(Matthew pulls out his gun and runs behind a clothing rack)
(Two soldiers walk towards the rack)
(Michael pushes the rack out into the middle of the floor)
Soldier #1: You take the left, I’ll take the right.
Soldier #2: Okay.
(Matthew jumps up and shoots the first soldier)
Matthew: Too late.
(He turns to fire at the second soldier)
(The second soldier ducks behind a clothing rack)
(Matthew crouches down and moves closer)
(The second soldier fires at him)
(Matthew ducks behind the counter)
(The saleswoman screams again)
(Matthew takes his old shoes off)
(He puts his new ones on)
Matthew: There. That’s better.
(The soldier cautiously looks out)
(Matthew jumps out and shoots him)
(The bullet grazes his shoulder and he falls to the ground)
(Matthew runs towards the soldier)
(The fallen soldier shoots at Matthew and hits his shoe)
(Matthew falls to the ground)
Matthew: Not my new shoes!!
(The soldier gets up holding his shoulder)
(He stumbles into the glass elevator)
(The elevator goes to the second floor)
(Matthew slowly gets up and looks around)
(A bullet barely misses him and he ducks back behind the clothing rack)
(Cut to the soldier shooting at him from the second floor)
(Matthew runs over to the escalator and starts going up)
(The soldier goes down on the opposite escalator)
(They meet halfway and start shooting at one another)
(The soldier jumps onto Matthew’s escalator and shoots him in the chest)
(Matthew starts falling and shoots the soldier in the chest)
(Matthew is carried up to the top floor)
(The soldier slides next to him)
(Matthew jumps up and runs to the restroom)
(Cut to Matthew removing his bulletproof vest in front of the mirror)
(Matthew picks up his vest and goes into the stall)
(The soldier enters the restroom and takes off his bulletproof vest)
(He puts it near the faucet and leaves the restroom)
(Matthew walks out of the stall and goes over to wash his hands)
Matthew: What the…?
(He picks up the soldier’s bulletproof vest)
Matthew: Aw crap.
(Matthew leaves the restroom and ducks behind a clothing rack)
(He doesn’t see the soldier so he sneaks over to the elevator)
(Matthew enters the elevator and sighs)
(Another guy enters the elevator)
Matthew: Going down?
Other Guy (Soldier) : Yep.
(They turn and look at each other)
(The elevator doors close as they draw their guns)
(They stand facing each other with the guns)
Matthew: Don’t…
(The soldier pulls the trigger)
(Click)
(The gun is empty)
(Matthew pulls the trigger)
(Click)
(They drop the guns and charge at each other)
(They crash through the glass elevator and fall to the first floor)
(They struggle to get up and they see the dead first soldier)
(The first soldier’s gun is a few feet from his body)
(They both run for the gun)
(Matthew gets there first and grabs the gun)
(He points it at the soldier from the floor)
Matthew: Don’t move.
(Matthew slowly stands up with his gun pointed at the soldier)
Matthew: How many more are there?
(The soldier doesn’t answer)
Matthew: Oh crap…that many?
(Matthew slowly walks over to the register)
(The soldier walks past him and steps in front of the saleswoman)
Soldier: Don’t hurt her.
Matthew: I wasn’t planning to. I just want to get my credit card.
(The soldier sighs and steps aside)
(Matthew reaches to get his credit card)
(The soldier pulls out a knife and lunges at Matthew)
(Matthew dodges the blow and pistol whips the soldier)
(The unconscious soldier falls to the ground)
Matthew: He just won’t give up, will he? I’m getting out of here before he wakes up.
(Matthew turns to the saleswoman)
Matthew: Thanks for the service.
(Cut to the Food Court of the mall)
(Evan is in line for some pizza)
(An extremely tall man pushes his way past him in the line)
Evan: Hey, you can’t just push in front of people. I was here first.
(The tall guy doesn’t answer him)
Evan: Move.
(Evan tries to push his way back in line)
(The tall guy turns around and pushes Evan back)
Evan: Look, man, there’s no need for a fight to break out. Just step aside and let me get back in line.
(The tall guy chuckles and turns back away from Evan)
Evan: Listen, man…I was in line first.
(Evan grabs the man’s arm)
(The man twists his arm around and grabs Evan’s hand)
(Evan turns his hand around and grabs the guy’s arm)
(He flips the guy over)
Evan: I tried to tell you nicely.
(Evan steps over the guy and gets in line)
(The guy gets up and pulls out a knife)
(He tries to stab Evan in the back)
(Evan turns around at the last second and hits the guy’s hand)
(The guy’s hand spins around and he accidentally stabs himself)
Evan: Oh, no.
(The tall guy gurgles and hits the ground)
Evan: No, no, no.
(Everybody starts running and screaming)
(The soldiers see Evan standing over the tall guy’s body)
(They start firing)
(Cut to Evan running by the department store)
(He sees Matthew running out of it)
Matthew: What are you doing?
Evan: Where have you been?
(Steven is in line for a pretzel)
Steven: I’ll take…uh…the Italian pretzel. Isn’t the Italian the one with the garlic and the parmesan cheese?
(Evan and Matthew run up to him)
Matthew: We have to go.
Evan: Now.
(Steven looks up and sees the soldiers)
Steven: Ah, man, but what about my pretzel?
(Cut to a huge prison)
(General Tanaka walks up to an elderly man, WARDEN FRYES)
General Tanaka: You wanted to see me?
Warden: Yeah, I want to show you something.
(They walk over to a large doorway)
(The door opens to reveal an interrogation room with a lone chair)
Warden: Looks like a normal interrogation room. But the funds gained from robbing the Rebellion has given us the means to come up with inventive ways to kill.
(Warden presses a button next to the door)
(Fire shoots up from the floor and engulfs the whole room)
(Warden presses the button again)
(The fire goes out and the chair is a pile of ashes)
Warden: Nice, huh?
General Tanaka: It’s interesting to say the least.
Warden: Let me show you something else.
(Cut to Warden and General Tanaka walking into an office with a large window)
Warden: I was so amazed by this that I absolutely had to put one in my office.
(They walk over to a missile launcher built into the floor)
(It’s pointed at the window)
Warden: If any Rebellion members attempt to escape, I’ve got a heat-seeking missile launcher. But this specific missile launcher was tailor-made to fit my requests. It’s not only attracted to body heat…but it’s also attracted to blood. If anyone is wounded while they’re trying to escape, all it takes is pulling the trigger. Amazing, isn’t it?
General Tanaka: It all depends on your definition of amazing.
Warden: I’m sure you know about the electric fence.
(Cut to Phillip entering the room)
Warden: There you are. You’ve wanted to talk to the general for a while.
Phillip: Yes, I have.
Warden: Did you do it?
Phillip: It has been accomplished.
General Tanaka: You’re playing with fire.
Phillip: I’ve played with fire before. But, let’s talk. The Rebellion’s confiscated money is not just for the weapons we use against them.
(Cut to a room with two comfortable chairs)
(General Tanaka sits in one and Phillip sits in the other)
Phillip: Do you still have the Whispering Dragon sword?
General Tanaka: Of course. It’s been passed down through generations in my family. It is one of my most prized possessions.
Phillip: I wanted this opportunity to talk with you in private. We all know Warden is stupid. He’s not refined enough for our conversations.
General Tanaka: He seems to take great pleasure in having weapons manufactured to kill more people. Isn’t prison’s main goal to rehabilitate? The leaders of the Rebellion are the ones we should seek to destroy…not their misguided followers.
Phillip: Most of the Rebellion is past conversion. We can’t have them living to brainwash their children into this course of foolishness.
General Tanaka: We still shouldn’t kill innocent people.
Phillip: Nobody’s innocent, General.
General Tanaka: Well, we can’t kill those who…aren’t ready to die.
Phillip: Nobody’s ready to die, General.
General Tanaka: You know what I mean. Termination should only be reserved for those who pose the biggest threat to the Elite…those who aren’t willfully seeking to harm.
Phillip: The idea poses a threat to the Elite. The idea is evil. Those who support the idea are evil.
General Tanaka: Nobody’s completely evil, Phillip.
Phillip: Oh, really? What’s the purpose of the Elite?
General Tanaka: The purpose of the Elite is to provide peace and security for everyone.
Phillip: No, no, that’s just a verbatim recitation of our deceit. Our forefathers cited the true meaning of the Elite…to keep the rich rich and the poor poor.
General Tanaka: That’s not the current meaning. We have evolved, Phillip.
Phillip: Have we? Then why are people who are born into their current status in life stay there? It doesn’t change no matter how much work they do. That’s what the people are rebelling against. They want to feel some sense of accomplishment…but it’s at our loss.
General Tanaka: I don’t accept that definition. I want you to know that the Elite exists solely for the purpose of peace and security. That’s why I’m put off by Warden’s methods. You sound like one of the Rebellion, spreading propaganda that distorts what we truly want. Which side are you really rooting for, Phillip?
Phillip: That’s the difference between you and me. I know exactly which side I’m rooting for. You’re deluding yourself, General, if you really think we want peace and security for everyone. I’ve struggled with this for a while, but I know why I’m associated with the Elite…because I want to go home at the end of the day and eat food prepared by the best chefs in our country and be entertained by the best technology our country can afford and enjoy everything that I want.
General Tanaka: So you’re only a member of the Elite for selfish purposes?
Phillip: The Elite exists only for selfish purposes.
General Tanaka: I know why I’m a member of the Elite. How can you justify your reason?
Phillip: I cannot justify it nor do I wish to.
General Tanaka: But that’s…
Phillip: Evil? It’s certainly not innocent. But, like I said before, nobody’s innocent, General. I recognize things for what they are, you see things as you wish them to be. The Rebellion’s not innocent either, but in some perspectives, they could be the lesser of two evils. They just want what we’re entitled to and disguise it with equality for all. We keep them in the filth they were born into and disguise it as peace and security.
General Tanaka: We’re working for the good of everybody. My intentions are pure.
Phillip: Stop grasping at straws, seeking justification for our course despite your own better judgment.
General Tanaka: Look…you are a member of the Elite for your own ignorant reasons. I am a member of the Elite because I want to help people.
Phillip: Don’t worry. You’ll learn like I had to learn.
General Tanaka: I’ll never be like you.
Phillip: Okay…General Tanaka, could I interest you in a swordfight?
General Tanaka: A swordfight?
Phillip: Yeah, you bring the Whispering Dragon and I’ll bring my humble blade. It’ll be a good old-fashioned duel between friends. What do you say?
General Tanaka: All right…sure.
(Cut to General Tanaka unsheathing his sword)
(It is long and light with a dragon-shaped hilt)
(Phillip unsheathes his sword)
(It is broad and has a traditional hilt)
(They face each other underneath a cross)
General Tanaka: The prison church for a swordfight?
Phillip: Eh…why not?
General Tanaka: The pews will get in the way.
Phillip: You’re not so old that a few pews prove to be an obstacle, are you?
General Tanaka: No…I was more worried about you.
(They charge at each other)
(Steel clashes against steel as they start fighting)
(General Tanaka parries every thrust from Phillip)
(They fight up and down the pews)
(Phillip swings at General Tanaka extremely hard)
(General Tanaka raises his sword but it’s knocked out of his hand)
(The sword slides under a pew)
General Tanaka: Wait…
(Phillip plunges his sword into General Tanaka’s chest)
General Tanaka: What?
Phillip: The Elite is cleaning house.
(Blood comes out of General Tanaka’s mouth)
General Tanaka: You…are…evil.
(General Tanaka falls to his knees)
Phillip: I told you you’d learn.
(Phillip yanks his sword out)
(General Tanaka falls to the ground facedown)
(A puddle of blood forms underneath him)
(Phillip turns to the guards)
Phillip: Give my friend a nice burial.
(Cut to Matthew, Steven, and Evan huddled around a blueprint)
Matthew: We barely escaped the soldiers in the mall. How do they know where we are every time we think we’re getting somewhere?!?
Evan: I’m telling you…there’s an informant.
Steven: There has to be.
Matthew: All right, but time is of the essence. We’ll spend the night here at the underground school. But this is our last haven.
Steven: If the soldiers come here, we won’t have anywhere else to go.
Matthew: Let’s talk about tomorrow. We have to find a way to get into the prison, take out the warden and the guards, and save our friend.
Evan: Well, first, we’ll take out the lights…then we’ll take out the guards…then we’ll kill the warden…and then we’ll free our friend.
Steven: Sounds like a good plan to me. How are we gonna take out the lights?
Evan: The power cord for the prison runs underground. This blueprint shows the exact location. We’ll dig here…
(Evan points to a spot on the blueprint)
Evan: We have to do it early in the morning when it’s still dark. Once we cut that, the electric fence won’t work. It’ll take approximately five minutes for them to get the power back so we have to bypass the electric fence and be well on our way to retrieving Michael before they get it back.
Steven: Then we’ll fight.
Evan: Yeah…then we’ll fight.
Matthew: There’s a chance we won’t survive. The Elite and Rebellion have been fighting for many years. The Elite represent oppression. We represent freedom. Many lives have been lost in the battle, but a grievous blow has been dealt to the Revolution. One of our leaders has been imprisoned and scheduled for execution…and we have to save him. But what happens to the Revolution if we’re all executed? The informant will give them all our hiding spots. Men, women, and children will be murdered with nobody to defend them and no one to lead them away from death and suffering. All our efforts will have been for nothing.
Steven: Even if we die, it isn’t going to be for nothing. We’re sacrificing everything to save our friend. We’re doing this so that in history…even if it’s history that will be misrepresented by the Elite…our revolution, which has gathered millions of people for one cause, will have done something right in this dark world. Even if the Rebellion fades into nothing, my parents have always taught me that good is its own reward. And if we succeed, we will be even closer to ridding ourselves of the Elite burden.
Evan: It’s like the Musketeers said. One for all…and all for one.
(They’re interrupted by the sound of gunfire)
(The three pull out their guns)
Matthew: Oh, no, this is horrible.
Steven: There’s children sleeping on the ground floor.
Evan: We can’t let them get hurt.
Matthew: They found us again.
(The three run up the steps)
(Soldiers are running down the hallway)
Soldier #4: There they are!
Matthew: We’ll all meet together at the back! Let’s go!
(One of the kids goes out into the hallways in pajamas)
(He’s scared as he looks at the soldiers running through the school)
(Matthew runs into one of the stairwells)
(The kid goes up to the second floor)
(He sees a soldier looking in the different rooms)
(The soldier sees the kid)
Soldier: Hey, you!
(The kid runs towards the stairwell)
Soldier: Wait! Stop!
(Cut to Matthew hiding in the stairwell on the first floor)
(The kid runs into the stairwell and trips)
(He slides over the banister and dangles above the floor)
(He holds onto the railing tight as his feet dangle in the air)
(Matthew looks up and sees the kid)
(The soldier enters the stairwell)
Soldier: Grab my hand.
(The soldier holds out his hand)
(The boy doesn’t move as he hangs from the stairwell)
Soldier: Grab my hand or you’re gonna fall!
(Matthew watches from below)
Soldier: You can do it! Just grab my hand!
(The boy’s hands slip and he falls)
(Matthew drops the gun)
(He runs over and catches the boy)
(The soldier runs downstairs with his gun drawn)
(Matthew lets the boy go and faces the soldier)
(The soldier’s shoulder is bandaged)
Matthew: You again?
(The soldier points his gun at Matthew)
(Matthew sighs)
Soldier: You caught the boy.
(The soldier lowers his gun)
Soldier: Get out of here…now.
(Matthew looks at the soldier)
(He nods his head in understanding)
(He picks up his gun and leaves through the back door)
(The soldiers run into the stairwell)
Soldier #4: You didn’t get him?
Soldier: No…he escaped.
(Cut to the prison)
(Matthew, Steven, and Evan are digging a hole nearby)
(Evan reaches down with some shears and cuts the power)
(They climb the fence and run across to the prison door)
(Matthew shoots open the prison door and they enter)
Matthew: Steven, up top is Warden’s room. There is a pad that will unlock all the cells. There’s gonna be some guards so be careful. Evan, find Michael. I’ll incapacitate the guards on this floor so that everyone can escape and I’ll get the key to the electric fence.
(They all split up)
(Matthew walks into the first room)
(The guard is asleep)
(Matthew taps one on the shoulder)
Guard: Huh?
(Matthew punches the guard)
(The guard slumps to the ground)
Matthew: You’re gonna take a longer nap than you thought.
(Matthew takes the fence key and walks out of the room)
(He walks into the second room)
(There are two guards laughing with their backs turned to him)
(The guards are watching a video)
(Matthew sneaks up behind the two guards and taps one of them)
(The two guards turn around)
(Matthew punches them and knocks them both out)
Matthew: What were you watching?
(He rewinds the video)
(On the video we see Michael meditating in his cell)
(We see Phillip enter the room)
(Phillip shoots Michael in the head)
(Cut to Matthew watching the video in horror)
Matthew: No…no…Michael…they killed him.
(Matthew falls to his knees and cries)
Matthew: Oh God…this is a trap. They already killed him and they scheduled the execution because they knew we would try to rescue him.
(Matthew gets up and dries his eyes)
Matthew: I gotta warn Evan and Steven before it’s too late.
(Matthew runs down the hall and sees Evan)
Matthew: Evan, where’s Steven?
Evan: He already went upstairs. I’m looking for Michael. What is it?
Matthew: We gotta find Steven, but first, I need to show you something.
(Cut to the both of them watching the video in shock)
Evan: They killed Michael.
Matthew: And they’re gonna kill us if we don’t get out of here.
Evan: No…I’m gonna kill them.
(Evan cocks his gun and runs out of the room)
Matthew: Wait!
(Cut to Evan going upstairs)
(Someone grabs Evan from behind)
(Evan spins around)
(Michael is standing there alive and well)
Michael: Evan?
Evan: Michael…you’re alive.
Michael: What are you doing here, Evan?
Evan: I’m here to save you.
Michael: How many are here?
Evan: It’s me and Matthew and Steven. How are you alive? I saw you got shot in the video.
Michael: I survived the wound and stumbled out of the cell. They’ve been looking for me since.
(Evan hugs Michael)
Evan: I thought I’d never see you again. Look, man, we gotta get out of here.
Michael: I know a secret way. Follow me.
(Michael goes over to a door)
(Evan follows him to the door)
Michael: There’s an emergency exit through this door.
(Michael walks up to a door and it opens)
Michael: After you.
(Evan enters the room)
Evan: I actually have a question. The video shows you getting shot point blank in the head. How did you survive that? And where’s the emergency exit?
Michael: Evan…I’m sorry.
Evan: What?
(Michael presses the button next to the door)
(Flames engulf the room)
(Evan doesn’t even get a chance to scream as the flames devour him)
(Michael presses the button again)
(The flames go out)
(A pile of ashes lay on the floor)
(Michael sighs as the door shuts)
(Cut to Matthew looking around with his gun drawn)
Matthew: Evan? Steven?
Michael: Matthew?
(Michael walks up to Matthew)
Matthew: Michael? Oh my…is it really you?
(Michael smiles)
Michael: Yes, my friend.
Matthew: How did you survive? Evan and I thought you were dead. Don’t tell me you and the other inmates have taken over the prison from the inside. If so, this is a massive victory for the Rebellion.
Michael: No, the Elite still rules this dreadful place.
Matthew: If that’s the case, we gotta get out of here.
Michael: I know a secret way. Come on.
(They walk up to the same door)
(The door opens)
Matthew: Before we go, I gotta find Evan and Steven.
Michael: I’ll find them. Where is Steven headed?
Matthew: I don’t know. Let me help you find them.
Michael: That’s not necessary. Just tell me where Steven is.
Matthew: What about Evan?
Michael: Evan…has already gone to the secret escape. I led him here earlier. Just tell me where Steven is headed.
(Matthew looks confused)
Matthew: When I said I had to find Evan and Steven, you said you’d find them. You didn’t tell me you had already seen Evan. What’s going on here?
(Michael sighs and pushes Matthew into the room)
(Michael pushes the button)
(Matthew jumps out as the room goes up in flames)
Matthew: You? You’re one of them?
(Michael takes Matthew’s gun)
Michael: Not only am I one of them…I’m the informant.
(Cut to Steven walking towards Warden’s room)
(He hears someone laughing)
(He follows the laugh to a room where a person is sitting with their back turned)
(The person turns around and it’s Phillip)
Phillip: Steven, welcome. I’ve heard a lot about you. I’m just watching the security cameras and it’s like watching an action movie.
(Steven points his gun at Phillip)
Steven: Where’s Michael?
Phillip: He’s just getting ready to kill Matthew.
Steven: What?
Phillip: Oh, you didn’t know? Michael’s one of ours. He’s our informant. He killed Evan a few minutes ago. He’s about to kill Matthew.
Steven: I don’t believe you.
Phillip: Well, see for yourself.
(Steven looks and sees Michael pointing a gun at Matthew)
(His eyes widen in horror)
Phillip: You see, back in the early days of the Elite and the Rebellion, the Elite had problems dealing with them because they were so unpredictable. So they trained one of their own, from infancy, to infiltrate the Rebellion. His job was to inform the Elite of any developments within the Rebellion and to also subvert the whole point of the Rebellion. I mean…let’s be honest. The Elite was getting weaker and weaker and the Rebellion was getting stronger and stronger. But ever since he infiltrated the Rebellion and actually managed to help lead it, the Elite has grown stronger and stronger. We’ll soon be able to launch an all-out attack on the Rebellion.
(Warden and the guard walk up behind Steven and grab his gun)
Phillip: It was actually Michael’s plan to stage a kidnapping in order to lure you here. It was my own plan to shoot Michael with blanks. I mean, that muted video they watched was nothing. I was going to air it on network television with full sound and absolutely destroy the morale of the Rebellion. The video convincingly portrayed Michael as a hero until death. All that the Rebellion would have to inspire them as they were annihilated would be a martyr…a fake one at that. It’s so poetic, don’t you think?
Steven: No.
Phillip: ‘No’. Go take him to die with his friend. He’s such a boring conversationalist.
(Cut to Michael pointing the gun at Matthew)
(The fire travels outside the room)
(Michael looks back)
(Matthew grabs the gun and they struggle over it)
(The gun goes off two times)
(Click)
(The gun’s empty)
(They both drop the gun and Matthew runs out of the room)
(Michael follows him)
(Cut to Phillip watching it on the security cameras)
Phillip: No, no, no! Somebody stop that fire. It’ll burn down the whole prison at this rate.
Warden: What about Matthew?
Phillip: Let Michael take care of him.
(Steven kicks Warden back and punches the guard)
(He runs to the exit)
Phillip: Stop him!
(Phillip shoots at Steven and misses)
Phillip: You old fools!
(Phillip leaps up and chases Steven)
(Cut to Steven running into the prison church)
(The fire has spread to the church and is consuming the wooden pews)
(Phillip enters and shoots at Steven)
(Steven ducks inside a confessional)
Phillip: Have you got a confession to make?
(Steven runs out of the confessional and ducks behind a pew)
(Phillip shoots at him and hits the pew)
Phillip: You’re unarmed, Steven. Just give up and maybe I won’t shoot you above the neck.
(Steven breathes heavily as Phillip approaches)
(Cut to Matthew running out into the prison yard)
(Michael chases him outside)
(The morning sun shines bright in the sky)
(Michael lunges at Matthew and tackles him)
(Michael pulls out a knife and tries to stab Matthew)
Michael: You’ll never destroy the Elite. It’s too vast and too powerful.
Matthew: Maybe…but I’ll destroy you.
(Cut to Warden and the guard looking out at them struggling)
(Warden looks at the missile launcher)
Warden: This is taking too long. Fire on both of them.
(Cut to Phillip approaching the pew)
Phillip: Your life is about to end…just like your cause.
(Steven sees the Whispering Dragon sword and grabs it)
Phillip: Goodbye, Steven.
(Phillip walks around the pew with his gun ready)
(Steven lunges and stabs Phillip between the shoulder blades)
(Phillip gasps and drops the gun)
(He falls to the floor dead)
(Steven picks up the gun and runs towards Warden’s room)
(Cut to Matthew struggling to keep from being stabbed)
Michael: You know what they’re going to do, don’t you? They’re going to fire on both of us. The missile is attracted to body heat…as well as blood. I’m going to slice you…
(Michael cuts Matthew’s cheek)
Michael: Then I’ll run away as the missile is fired. You see, I’m on no one’s side. I’m a survivor. Elite, Rebellion…I’m just trying to live.
Matthew: That’s…too bad.
(Cut to the guard pulling the trigger on the missile launcher)
(The missile speeds towards Matthew and Michael)
(Matthew kicks Michael’s knee and shoves the knife into Michael’s stomach)
(Michael gasps as Matthew gets up and runs away)
(Blood pours from Michael’s stomach)
(Michael looks up and sees the missile heading straight at him)
(The missile hits Michael and the explosion knocks Matthew down)
Warden: We missed him! Fire again!
(Cut to Steven entering Warden’s room)
(He shoots the guard manning the missile launcher)
(Warden turns around and reaches for his gun)
(Steven shoots Warden and he hits the window)
(Steven runs over and presses the keypad)
(The cell doors unlock and all the Rebellion prisoners run out of the prison)
(Cut to Matthew opening the electric fence with the key)
(All the prisoners leave as the prison burns to the ground)
Words Onscreen: Three Months Later
(Cut to Matthew on a podium giving a speech)
Matthew: Two of my friends, Evan and Steven, were killed in the fire. But we have freed all of the Elite’s prisoners and we are rebuilding.
(We see that Matthew is speaking to a large crowd)
Matthew: The battle is not over…but we can never give up hope. A person once told me that good is its own reward. If we are willing to help our brothers even at our own cost, then the world shall know that the Rebellion will never die. It lives on in the hearts of each of us and it promises a world with equality for everyone!
(The crowd claps and cheers)
(Cut to a man with a hood over his face in the crowd)
(His face is badly burned)
Matthew: It’s like the Musketeers say. One for all…
Crowd: …and all for one.
Hooded Man (Steven) : All for one.
(THE END)
