SAM MILLER:
Hello?
Sam continues walking until he reaches a small, but ornate fountain which seems to be the town center.
SAM MILLER:
I'd like some food and water...and possibly clothes.
No answer. Finally, MAGISTRATE PHILLIPS, a bald and stern man walks out of what seems to be the court house.
PHILLIPS:
Who are you? What do you want?
SAM MILLER:
Please, I'd just like some food and water. I got lost in the mountains on a hiking trip. Please, whatever you can spare.
PHILLIPS:
It is common courtesy in Transyl for a stranger to give their name to those whose aid he seeks.
SAM MILLER:
My name is Miller....Sam Miller. Please, I nearly died.
Phillips frowns, and motions with his hands. A group of 3 townspeople come out of the court house.
PHILLIPS:
Take him to the inn. Give him food and water.
Phillips eyes Sam's ragged form.

Uh, America.
PHILLIPS:
On a camping trip you say?
SAM MILLER:
In the Balkans. I got seperated from my group, and I was attacked. By wolves.
PHILLIPS:
They would have killed you. Please, Mr. Miller. We here in Transyl have seen much stranger things than a man walking half naked out from the mountains. What happened to you?
SAM MILLER:
Well, do you believe in lycanthropy?
PHILLIPS:
What?
SAM MILLER:
Werewolves, sir.
Phillips' face turns uneasy as he sits back in his chair.
PHILLIPS:
The loup garou isn't unknown in our area of the world. But truth be told, we haven't encountered one.
SAM MILLER:
You say that like you have encountered something.
Phillips' looks around the bar, and leans in closer to Sam.
PHILLIPS:
Here's a question for you, Sam. Do you believe in vampires?
SAM MILLER:
If you had asked me a few years ago, I'd laugh in your face, but now....
PHILLIPS:
Now...
SAM MILLER:
Well, I AM a werewolf, sir. I was bitten back in the states. Technically, I'm one of the undead too. I was killed by my best friend, then some graverobbers dug me up on a full moon. And here I am.
PHILLIPS:
That's too bad.
SAM MILLER:
If I am a werewolf, why wouldn't I believe in vampires?
PHILLIPS:
It started a few months ago.
FADE OUT
EXT. TRANSYL - NIGHT - FLASHBACK
A young girl wanders the streets of Transyl, skipping along. A shadow moves lucidly across the dark background. The girl stops, and looks around. A VOICE is heard from behind her.
VOICE:
Good evening.
The girl spins around quickly in fear as she faces a man draped in shadows.
VOICE:
Don't be startled.
GIRL:
Who are you?
VOICE:
I am but a child of the night. Would you like me to show myself? I am afraid that these shadows do hide my figure.
The man steps out of the shadows, and into the moonlight. He is tall and skinny, with a pale visage. The man's eyes are a translucent blue, too blue for reality. He wears dark clothes, with a black cape.
GIRL:
What is...what is your name?
MAN:
My name is Baron Latos. I have come to Transyl from England.
GIRL:
For what?
BARON LATOS:
It is a matter of personal business. YOu could help me if you'd like.
GIRL:
How?
The Baron sticks his hand out, with a RING noticeably visible on his right hand's middle finger.
BARON LATOS:
Come to me.
The Baron stares directly into the girl's eyes as he motions for her to come to him.
BARON LATOS:
Come.
The girl slowly walks forward, as if she is hypnotized.
GIRL:
I will help you...however you may command.
BARON LATOS:
Thank you, my dear.
The girl stumbles into the Baron's chest, whose right hand grabs the girl by the back of the head.
BARON LATOS:
Now please, close your eyes. That's it....sleep.
The girl's head falls backward, leaving her neck open.
BARON LATOS:
Thank you.
The camera ZOOMS OUT to a full moon just as the Baron moves his
head in towards the girl's neck.

EXT. TRANSYL - MORNING - FLASHBACK
The girl from the night before lies in the middle of the street. Her body is pale, obviously DEAD. Villagers begin to crowd the scene as Phillips makes his way to the corpse.
PHILLIPS:
Good God, what happened to her?
A man, the village doctor, looks up at Phillips clueless.
DOCTOR:
I...I have no idea. We checked the body in it's entirety, and there's no sign of foul play.
Phillips inspects the body closer.
CLOSE UP: PHILLIP's EYES
CLOSE UP: GIRL'S NECK
The camera pans up the pale neck, until two small red dots are seen on her jugular vein. Small drops of blood seem to be crusted from what seemed to have been a small flow.
PHILLIPS:
What's this?
Phillips runs his finger by the two small dots, picking up some dried blood.
PHILLIPS:
What could those be, doctor?
DOCTOR:
I can't tell from out here. I'll have to take the body in.
Phillips stands up and nods at the doctor. Two of them men delicately pick up the corpse, and carry it off.
FADE OUT
INT. TRANSYL BAR - NIGHT
PHILLIPS:
And it all started there. Here we are now, 5 dead. All female, same cause. 2 bite marks to the neck, their veins seemingly drained of blood. If that isn't supernatural, we're out of options.
Miller leans back in his chair, seemingly thinking over the situation.
SAM MILLER:
And all you've found are females with two bite marks in their neck, who look like they've been drained of blood?
Phillips nods, as Sam softly sighs.

A van is parked outside of a mansion. A middle aged man, DOCTOR EDELMANN, stands near the front of the vehicle. A blonde girl, in her early 30s, ANNA KRAUSE, helps load some equipment into the trunk of the van. A third figure, who seems to be crouched, hops out of the trunk. He has a hunchback, and a sad look face.
DOCTOR EDELMANN:
Daniel, is everything packed?
The hunchback looks into the trunk, and walks back around to the front.
DANIEL:
Yes, doctor.
DOCTOR EDELMANN:
Very good. Now, when you reach the castle, make sure you inform the Baron that I will be late in my arrival. I have some other pressing matters to attend to.
DANIEL:
Of course, doctor.
The doctor smiles, and pats his trusty assistant on the back.
DOCTOR EDELMANN:
Anna.
The pretty nurse walks over to the doctor with a smile on her face.
ANNA:
Yes, doctor?
DOCTOR EDELMANN:
Be careful, will you? I don't have a good feeling about this Baron
Latos.
ANNA:
I will, and I will keep an eye out for Daniel as well, so he doesn't get into trouble.
DOCTOR EDELMANN:
There we are. I will see you in a few weeks.
The doctor nods at both of his assistants as they climb into the van. The doctor pats the side of the window, and the driver revs the engine, and drives off.

CUT TO
EXT. TRANSYL - MORNING
As the van comes to a stop, the driver's side door opens up, and the driver exits the vehicle. Villagers begin to leave their houses to view the commotion. The passenger's side door opens, and Anna steps out. A hustled Phillips steps out among the crowd.
PHILLIPS:
Who are you, and what's your business in Transyl?
ANNA:
We've come to look for a Baron Latos. My superior told me his estate would be nearby.
PHILLIPS:
We know nobody by the name of Latos, missus. I'm afraid you have the wrong town.
ANNA:
I am positive that the doctor told us this was the town.
PHILLIPS:
Doctor? What doctor?
ANNA:
Doctor Edelmann. He's a world class physician from England.
SAM(O.S.):
I've heard of him.
The crowd turns around, revealling Sam walking through them, starring right at Anna.
SAM:
Supposedly the best in the world, isn't that correct?
ANNA:
His patients have said that, yes.
Sam continues to walk closer to Anna.
SAM:
They say he can help people that other's can't, don't they?
ANNA:
(NERVOUSLY)
He has had some patients with rare diseases, so I guess you could s....
SAM:
He is my only choice.
ANNA:
Who are you?
SAM:
My name is of no consequence to you, only to your doctor.
DANIEL (O.S.):
His name is Sam Miller.
The crowd gasps as Daniel, Edelmann's humpbacked assistant walks to the front.
ANNA:
That name is familiar, but I can't recall from where...
DANIEL:
He's the one who murdered those people in America, and then again in Germany. He's the one the doctor was always talking about. He is the ly...
PHILLIPS:
Enough! You two come with me and Mr. Miller here. We have much to discuss.
Sam takes a lasting look at Anna.

MICHAEL:
Think that's enough.
Carl walks in carrying another rifle, and a duffel bag.
MICHAEL:
We have everything?
CARL:
All we're gonna need when we find him are guns and silver bullets.
Michael chuckles, and shoulders his equipment.
MICHAEL:
You ready?
Carl nods, and they head outside of the door towards a pick up truck.
FADE OUT
INT. PHILLIP'S HOUSE - NIGHT
Anna, Daniel, and Sam sit at a round table in the kitchen as Phillips pours some tea in the background.
SAM:
So, Ms. Krause, where are you from?
ANNA:
You can call me Anna, but, I'm from America.
SAM:
Well, it sure is refreshing to see another Yank here who is not out to capture me. And what about you, Quasimodo, where are you from?
ANNA:
Mr. Miller, I don't think it's fair to laugh at Daniel's disability.
SAM:
You can call me Sam. Sorry, Daniel, where are you from?
DANIEL:
I was born in London, but I've lived as an orphan for my entire life.
SAM MILLER:
Until Edelmann.
DANIEL:
Yes.
SAM:
Seems like a great man.
Phillips brings 4 cups of tea to the table, and takes a seat next to Sam.
PHILLIPS:
I've thought your situations over. All 3 of you. If this Edelmann is looking for Baron Latos, and Sam is looking for Edelmann, I'd think it would be a good idea for all of you to look for this Latos. Together.
ANNA:
But you said earlier you had no idea who the Baron was.
PHILLIPS:
I have a hunch. You'll leave tonight. I already gave your driver instructions. If it is who I think it is, you're in for a surprise, but nevertheless. Good luck.
ANNA:
Thank you, sir.
Anna and Daniel get up to leave. Sam remains at the table with
Phillips.
PHILLIPS:
There isn't a full moon for a few weeks, so you should be fine.
SAM:
Thank you. If we're on the same page, then I suspect this Baron Latos is the guy whose been killing some of your female villagers.
PHILLIPS:
That's what I suspect. I found his estate the other day. It's back in the mountains. It's almost a black tower, I don't know how I didn't see it before. But if you're going to find him, it will be there.
Sam nods, and heads off upstairs.

The van starts, and heads off out of town.

INT. VAN - NIGHT
Sam sits in the back by himself, looming in the darkness. Anna can't help but keep her eye on Sam.
SAM:
You see something you like?
ANNA:
(STARTLED)
Oh..what? Oh...no. I was just curious. If the rumors are true...how did you become a...a...
SAM:
Werewolf?
ANNA:
The appropriate term would be lycanthrope, but yes.
SAM:
I think I can call it whatever the hell I want, Anna, considering I've been cursed by it for the past few years. And to answer your question, it's simple enough. Let me ask you one. How does one usually become a werewolf?
ANNA:
Depends on the patient. Could be a past tragedy that leads them to mental confusion and anguish, or it could be an obsession with the animal.
SAM:
I was actually looking for bitten.
ANNA:
That's impossible. You can't physically turn into a wolf.
SAM:
I'd beg to differ. Do you know how many people have told me that?
ANNA:
I wouldn't be surprised if the number was in the thousands.
Sam smiles sarcastically as Anna turns away, and looks out of a window. Miller inches towards Daniel.
SAM:
(Softly)
Never gives up, does she?
Daniel chuckles and shakes his head.
CUT TO
EXT. THE LATOS ESTATE - NIGHT
The van sputters to a stop. The camera PANS up the state: an ebon stone castle-like mansion. It seems medieval. Sam exits the van, followed by Daniel. Sam helps Anna down, and winks at her. Anna seems playfully disgusted. The trio walks up the path to the great, stone doors. Miller steps before them, and goes to knock on the doors.
SAM:
Well, here it goes...
Sam knocks with the gargoyle head knocker three times. After a moment, the great doors swing open from the inside, revealing nothing but shadows. In the background, an echoing set of footsteps is heard. A man outlined in shadows steps forwards, before he is revealed by the moonlight.
BARON LATOS:
I bid you....welcome.
INT. LATOS ESTATE - NIGHT
The Baron steps out, and usher the trio in. As he does, wolves begin to howl off in the distance.
BARON LATOS:
Ah! The children of the night. Aren't their voices beautiful?
Miller scoffs as the doors close behind them. Suddenly, three great chandeliers light, illuminating the entire hall. As Sam looks around the great, gothic hall, Anna steps up to the Baron.
ANNA:
You must be Baron Latos.
BARON LATOS:
Indeed I am. Tell me, unless my eyes decieve me, the doctor is not here.
ANNA:
No, the doctor is going to be here within the week. He had some business to tend to. But he told me to tell you that he promises he will be here very soon.
BARON LATOS:
Very well.
The Baron looks at Sam with a deep stare, as if he notices something supernatural about him.
BARON LATOS:
You...you are not one of the doctor's assistants.
The Baron points at Sam.
SAM:
No, my name is Sam Miller. I came to receive treatment for a disease that only the doctor can cure.
BARON LATOS:
You are neither dead nor dying. What is your disease?
SAM:
It rests inside of me until the full moon rises.
BARON LATOS:
Indeed. There are rooms available upstairs. Pick to your liking, although you'll find that they are all exactly the same.
Anna, Daniel, and Sam head upstairs as the Baron lingers in the great hall.
BARON LATOS:
Mr. Miller, a moment please.
Sam turns around and slowly walks downstairs.
BARON LATOS:
I know what you are, and I know what you are searching for, but you won't find it. You know just as I know that there is only one way to cure what you have become.
A BEAT passes.
BARON LATOS:
Death.
Sam looks at the Baron with a look of tragic understanding.

Do we know where he went?
MICHAEL:
I've asked around some of the towns. I'm sure he went south into the mountains. In human form, he cares enough to protect those around him.
Carl sits back as the truck continues to move.

Both men turn around, and face the girl.

ANNA:
I though you would be arriving later in the week.
DOCTOR EDELMANN:
My business in London was canceled.
BARON LATOS:
Shall we begin preperations tonight?
DOCTOR EDELMANN:
I am spent, my good man. I will begin tommorow.
The Baron bows away with a bit of anger in his look.
ANNA:
Doctor, there is someone you must meet.
DOCTOR EDELMANN:
Who would that be?
ANNA:
His name is Sam Miller.
DOCTOR EDELMANN:
Sam Miller? That name is familiar...
SAM (O.S.):
Doctor Edelmann...
Sam walks into the hall, staring at the doctor with a starry eyed look.
DOCTOR EDELMANN:
You must be Sam Miller.
SAM:
You're the one that can save me from this curse.

Sam Miller lies on the floor of a great catacomb like room, tattered from last night. Miller gradually comes to his senses, and realizes what happened. He looks around the room, and sees that the walls are a mixture of stone and earth. Various objects rest around the room, most notably a coffin in the center, elevated on a platform. It is elegant and gothic. On a small table next to it lies a silver spike.
SAM:
What could this be?
Miller realizes whats going on as he nears the coffin. Sam walks up the ebon steps, and slowly grabs the handle to the coffin's lid. He softly lifts the coffin open...
CUT TO
CLOSE UP: COFFIN
Baron Latos lays in the coffin, asleep.
Miller closes the coffins lid, and looks over at the silver stake. Sam
reaches out for the stake, and barely brushes it before he recoils his hand, the silver burning him.
SAM:
This could take two lives...
FADE OUT
INT. LATOS ESTATE - DAY
Sam walks into Edelmann's make shift lab, where the doctor is hard
at work.
SAM:
Doctor.
Edelmann stops what he is doing, and looks over at the doomed man.
DOCTOR EDELMANN:
Yes Sam, how can I help you?
SAM:
Have you had any breakthrough on a cure for me? Last night I went through one of my spells. Please, I can't bear this pain any longer! I killed three people! I can't remember how many I've killed.
DOCTOR EDELMANN:
Well it may comfort you to hear that I have discovered something that may be able to help you, but it must wait. It needs to be kept at the top of the castle for now.
SAM:
What is it?
DOCTOR EDELMANN:
Well, when we took those tests a few days ago, I came up with a theory on how your transformation works. There are some cases where the brain is put under very large amounts of stress when it senses or sees something. In your case, the full moon. When this occurs, a reaction begins in your brain, causing massive amounts of stress. But in your case, more than 100 times the amount of hormones are created and reacted upon, which brings the state of your reaction to that of 100 men. Simply put, the amount of hormones being generated causes you to grow long hair, and fangs, and it incites those beastial qualities.
SAM:
I'm not interested in how it happens, but how you can fix it.
DOCTOR EDELMANN:
There is a rare blue flower that grows in the slopes a few miles from here. I had Daniel pick some of them, and from the petals, I'm developing a serum. The only problem is, it's also the only other thing that can work in the Baron's case.
SAM:
Then you might be interested in what I found this morning in the catacombs of the castle. He's a vampire. I found him in a coffin, with a silver stake next to it. That's why he only appears at night. Now we have two deadly...monsters within reach of the town, and a way to solve both problems. It's going to be up to you to figure that out.
Sam walks away from the Doctor.
FADE OUT
INT. LATOS ESTATE - NIGHT
Daniel stands in the lab alone, looking over some of the papers.
BARON LATOS (O.s.):
Daniel.
The hunchback turns around.
DANIEL:
Baron?
The Baron walks on screen, his eyes blood red.
BARON LATOS:
Yes, it is me Daniel. Tell me, why hasn't the doctor helped you?
DANIEL:
He has, sir. He took me in when nobody else would.
BARON LATOS:
But does that help stop the way people look at you? They are disgusted by you. Can you not feel the pain of a thousand eyes stare at you with disgust?
DANIEL:
..He has more important issues to tend to.
Daniel seems to ignore the Baron as he comes closer.
BARON LATOS:
Has the Doctor told you anything about a cure?
DANIEL:
(Hesitantly)
He remains quiet, as usual.
BARON LATOS:
Come, Daniel. Don't be afraid. You can tell me.
The Baron raises his hand, and stares into Daniel's eyes.
BARON LATOS:
Tell me. Has the doctor found anything?
DANIEL:
(Slowly and mechanically)
Yes....but he says it is for Miller.
BARON LATOS:
For Miller? What is it?
DANIEL:
It is a serum...he says it can only cure one of you...
BARON LATOS:
And why not me?
DANIEL:
He says...he says we must destroy you. Because you are a monster.
BARON LATOS:
Oh, but I'm not, friend Daniel. You know that, right?
DANIEL:
Yes........master.
BARON LATOS:
Where does he keep this serum, Daniel?
DANIEL:
At the top of the castle, in a lockbox. Only the doctor has the key...
BARON LATOS:
Does it depress you, Daniel, that the doctor does not help you, after all you've done for him?
DANIEL:
Yes...
BARON LATOS:
We can fix that, friend Daniel.
The Baron grins devilishly.
CUT TO
INT. LATOS ESTATE - NIGHT
Dr. Edelmann sits in the parlor of the castle, reading one of his medical books.
DANIEL (O.S.):
Doctor Edelmann...
The doctor turns around, and sees Daniel walk sluggishly towards him.
DOCTOR EDELMANN:
Yes, Daniel, what is it?
DANIEL:
I'd like...I'd like a new body.
DOCTOR EDELMANN:
You know I can't give you that.
DANIEL:
But I have served you faithfully for years.
DOCTOR EDELMANN:
Is everything alright, Daniel?
Daniel begins to walk nearer to the doctor.
DANIEL:
The Baron said it was time for him to take control of his own destiny.
Daniel nears the doctor, arms outstretched.
DANIEL:
And that he could help me.
Edelmann backs away from Daniel.
DOCTOR EDELMANN:
What are you doing, Daniel?
DANIEL:
What's best for me. Good bye, doctor.
Daniel grabs Edelmann by the throat, and begins to strangle him. The Doctor yells, and begins to cough and gasp.
CUT TO
INT. HALLWAY - NIGHT
Miller hears the yell, and begins to run towards it.
CUT TO
INT. PARLOR - NIGHT
Edelmann lays limp on the floor as Daniel crouches over him.
ANNA (O.S.):
Daniel?
Daniel turns around, and looks at the doctor.
ANNA:
Daniel, what have you done?
DANIEL:
The doctor was going to hurt us, Anna.
ANNA:
Hurt us?
DANIEL:
I had to stop him. The Baron will help us now.
Sam runs into the room, and sees the limp doctor on the floor.
SAM:
No! NO! WHAT HAVE YOU DONE!
Miller rushes towards the dying doctor, and crouches over him.
SAM:
Doctor...Doctor Edelmann...
The doctor gasps for air, and seems like he is on the verge of death.
DOCTOR EDELMANN:
Use it on the next full moon..only...before...you change can..it...work.
Sam looks away at Daniel, who begins to walks towards Anna.
DOCTOR EDELMANN:
But remember...fate..maybe others are in more of a need...than you. You can do..good...yet...Sam. You...and only you....know when that...will be.
The doctor's eyes slowly close, and his head rolls back. Dead. Sam slowly lets the doctor drop.
ANNA:
Daniel, please, stop!
DANIEL:
The Baron wants you as his bride, Anna.
Sam looks at Daniel, rage in his eyes, as if the beast was coming out. Miller charges at the hypnotized hunchback, and tackles him violently to the floor. The hunchback tries fighting back, but Miller simply overpowers him, and begins to throttle him. Nothing but violent grunts emerge from Sam's mouth as he chokes the life out of Daniel. Daniel's eyes roll into the back of his head, and he takes one final gasp before he dies.
ANNA:
Sam?
Miller slowly stands up over Daniel, looking down at the dead hunchback.
ANNA:
Sam, what's going on?
SAM:
Edelmann is dead, Anna. The Baron took Daniel under his control. He's a vampire, Latos. Where did Edelmann keep the serum in the top of the tower?
ANNA:
He used a lockbox. Is he...is he dead?
SAM:
Yes, there's nothing we can do about that now. You must help me find his key, so I can get the serum before the Baron does.
BARON LATOS (O.S.):
I would not do that, Mr. Miller, if I were you.
Sam turns around, and sees Latos with the silver stake.
BARON LATOS:
I know you have just as much at stake as me, but I would prefer it if we did this easily.
SAM:
Easily?
BARON LATOS:
Yes, the easy way. You let me have the serum, and you go off and live as a werewolf. Or, I can kill you here and now, and end any chance you would have at being cured, and I take the serum. And the lovely Ms. Krause as my bride.
Anna looks on in disgust.
BARON LATOS:
Rennfield.
The Baron's odd looking servant walks into the light. He walks with a gimp, and a crazed smile on his face.
RENNFIELD:
Yes master?
BARON LATOS:
Take Mr. Miller to his room. And make sure he cannot get out.
RENNFIELD:
Right away, Master.
Rennfield grabs Sam by the arm roughly, and pulls him away.
BARON LATOS:
Miss Krause, if you would kindly retire for the night.
Anna slowly backs off, then runs away, leaving the Baron to himself.
FADE OUT
EXT. TRANSYL - DAY
A pick up truck rumbles into the peaceful town square. The magistrate, Phillips, looks on before he gives himself a face palm. The truck comes to a halt, as Michael Carraway and Carl Howard leap out of the doors.
MICHAEL:
Is this the town of Transyl?
PHILLIPS:
What do you want here?
MICHAEL:
Easy there Butterbean, we're looking for someone.
PHILLIPS:
You're not the first to say that in the past few days.
CARL:
We're looking for a man. His name is Sam Miller. He's a fugitive. This is Michael Carraway, he's a detective from the United States.
PHILLIPS:
And you are?
CARL:
My name is Carl Howard. My father was the mayor of Vasaria.
PHILLIPS:
Sam Miller has been here, yes. But I don't know why you would search for him. He's cursed with the sign of the beast. Last night, he killed two of our villagers.
MICHAEL:
We came prepared. This man killed his sister, and has ruined my life. Now I'm going to take his.
PHILLIPS:
And grant his wish! If he does not get cured, certainly he would seek death.
CARL:
A cure?
PHILLIPS:
Yes, he is at the Latos estate with Doctor Edelmann, a world renowned surgeon and theorist.
MICHAEL:
Where is this castle?
PHILLIPS:
In the mountains. Some of my men can take you there, but they will not follow you. It's a damned place. Only a fool would go there.
CARL:
Or someone with nothing to lose.
PHILLIPS:
I've lost 4 men in the mountains. They never returned. But I will help you later tonight. It will be a full moon then.
FADE OUT
INT. CASTLE TOWER - DUSK
Anna is chained to the wall of the tower, clad in a blood red dress, exposing her vest and some cleavage. The key rests around her neck on a chain. Rennfield paces back and forth through the room. 4 pale men stand in the room, wielding rifles. They all seem drained of blood, as if they were the living dead.
RENNFIELD:
You will make a beautiful bride. HAHHAHAHA!
Anna looks away, and tries to break from the chains.
CUT TO
INT. ROOM - DUSK
Miller sits in his room, staring out of the window at the setting sun.
CUT TO
EXT. TRANSYL - DUSK
Carraway starts the truck, and begins to drive off, with Carl and a guide in tow.
CUT TO
INT. CATACOMBS - DUSK
The coffin sits on it's ebon platform. Slowly, the lid of the coffin begins to rise, being pushed open by a pale, slender hand. Latos sits up, and exits his daytime resting place. The Baron grabs his silver stake, and exits the catacombs via a great stair case.
CUT TO
INT. CASTLE TOWER - NIGHT
The Baron stands in his tower, overlooking a great river from a
giant balcony.
BARON LATOS:
The time draws near, my dear Anna. Soon, we will be wed.
ANNA:
You're a monster.
BARON LATOS:
No, I'm not. You're doctor was a monster. I was the one who needed help. He was a preserver of life, not a master of death.
ANNA:
You're already dead.
BARON LATOS:
So is Miller. But you look to him as a hero.
ANNA:
He knows what is right.
BARON LATOS:
So we shall see. When it comes down to it, if you stand in his path to freedom, you become nothing more than one of his victims.
ANNA:
He can't control himself.
BARON LATOS:
But he slew Daniel right in front of you, my dear. When the time comes, he will show his true colors.
The Baron looks at a stopwatch in his coat.
BARON LATOS:
Rennfield, go downstairs and check on Miller.
RENNFIELD:
Right away, Master.
Rennfield exits the room.
CUT TO
INT. BEDROOM - NIGHT
Miller sits on his bed before his door creaks open.
RENNFIELD (O.S.):
Master wanted me to check if you're still here.
SAM:
There's no where to go.
Suddenly, a booming knock is heard on the great doors.
RENNFIELD:
Looks like we have company.
Rennfield goes to exit the room, but forgets to lock the door.
CUT TO
INT. GREAT HALL - NIGHT
Rennfield walks towards the doors, from which a knocking continues to come.
RENNFIELD:
Yes, yes...good Rennfield is coming..
Rennfield opens the door, but before he can speak, a GUN SHOT blares offscreen, and Rennfield falls dead. Carraway and Howard walk into the castle, guns raised.
CARRAWAY:
He's gotta be here somewhere.
CUT TO
INT. BEDROOM - NIGHT
Miller runs out of his room, and bolts towards the spiral staircase
that leads up to the main tower.
CUT TO
INT. GREAT HALL - NIGHT
Carl and Michael run towards the great stairs, and see Miller briefly run up the spiral staircase.
MICHAEL:
Now it is my time to become the hunter, Sam.
Carl and Michael bolt after the unawares Sam.
CUT TO
INT. CASTLE TOWER - NIGHT
Latos walks over towards Anna, and draws his head in near to her neck, as if he's teasing her.
BARON LATOS:
Before I can cure myself, I will make you my bride, and my
everlasting servant.
Anna tries to back away as the Baron laughs. He opens his mouth, and reveals two large, sharp fangs. As he is about to bite, the door slams open, revealing Miller.
SAM:
NO!
The 4 undead soldiers raise their rifles as if to shoot, but the Baron waves his hand at them.
BARON LATOS:
Ah, Mr. Miller, have you come to witness this ceremony of unholy
love?
SAM:
I've come to rid myself of this curse, of this hell once and for all.
BARON LATOS:
How poetic.
SAM:
And I've come to kill you.
BARON LATOS:
How do you plan on doing that, Sam? You're very well of the supernatural. The only thing that can kill me is right here in my hands.
Latos lifts the stake up, and waves it teasingly at Sam.
BARON LATOS:
I'm afraid you can't be the hero this time Sam.
The Baron motions for the guards to close the door.
BARON LATOS:
You know, for the short amount of time I've known you, you have become a huge stake in my heart.
The guards restrain Sam as the Baron begins to walk towards him, stake in hand.
BARON LATOS:
It is time to repay the favor.
Before the Baron can stab Sam, the door is kicked in, and two gun shots are fired, dropping two of the guards.
BARON LATOS:
What is this?
Michael shoots the Baron's stake hand, causing the silver weapon to fall to the floor. Carl shoots the other two guards restraining
Sam.
MICHAEL:
Remember me?
Michael walks up to Sam, and hits him in the face with the butt of his gun.
MICHAEL:
I'm the man whose life you ruined.
BARON LATOS:
Who are you?
MICHAEL:
None of your business. Miller comes with me.
ANNA:
HELP!
Michael looks towards the chained Anna.
MICHAEL:
Who the hell is this?
SAM:
(In pain)
Baron Latos, he's a vampire. Please, stop him, he's going to kill the girl.
The Baron acts before Michael can, and leaps upon him, using his super natural strength to pin him down. The Baron strikes Michael across the face. Carl runs up to the balcony, and looks outside towards the night sky.
CLOSE UP: NIGHT SKY
The full moon rises in the starless, black sky.
Carl smiles grimly as he looks towards everyone else.
CARL:
Do you remember me Sam? I'm the man who you bit in Vasaria. You killed my sister, but you forgot to kill me. And how ironic is it that there's a full moon.
Sam looks on, still dazed from the hit. Carl rips his shirt, and slumps to the floor in pain. He begins to transform.
SAM:
Sh...shi...sh*t.
The newly transformed Carl howls, and leaps at Latos, but the Baron is nimble, and dodges the attack. Sam gets up, and runs towards Anna. Sam unchains her, and rips the key off of her neck.
SAM:
Get out while you still can.
Sam walks over to the lock box. Meanwhile, Carl throws Baron into the wall, and looks at the fleeing Anna. Carl's werewolf leaps in front of her, and howls, and snarls violently at the girl. As he is about to pounce, Michael tackles him to the ground, and they begin to struggle.
MICHAEL:
The gun! GET THE GUN!
Anna hurries over towards one of the rifles, and aims it at Carl. Suddenly, the Baron grabs the gun, and throws it to the floor.
BARON LATOS:
I made you a promise, and I intend on keeping it.
The Baron goes to bite Anna, but she breaks away from his grasp, causing him to growl in anger.
Carl and Michael still struggle, but Carl gets the best of Michael, and bites him deep in the shoulder. Michael grunts in pain.
CUT TO
Miller opens the lock box, and finds the syringe, full of a blue liquid. Sam smiles, and holds it up to his face. The Baron snarls at this in the background. Sam hears Michael's cries of pain, and sees the bite wound on his shoulder.
DOCTOR EDELMANN (O.S.):
You can do..good...yet...Sam. You...and only you....know when that...will be.
Sam looks at the syringe with conflict.
CUT TO
The Baron looks away from Sam, and back towards Anna.
BARON LATOS:
Enough games, girl, YOU WILL BE MINE!
SAM (O.S.):
(In a burst of pain)
ANNA!
Sam tosses her the silver stake, which she catches. Before she can stab the Baron, Carl tackles the vampire in his beastly rage.
CUT TO
Sam runs over to Michael, who clutches his shoulder.
MICHAEL:
What..what are you doing?
SAM:
Saving you.
Sam inserts the syringe into Michael's shoulder, and pushes down, letting the fluids into his veins.
SAM:
I'm not all bad. Save the girl this time.
Sam walks over towards the balcony, and looks to the full moon, embracing it's light.
CUT TO
Anna sits in the corner as Carl's werewolf approaches her, ready
for the kill. Before he can attack her, Sam tackles him to the floor in a beastly rage. It is werewolf versus werewolf! Anna runs towards the wounded Michael.
ANNA:
Come with me.
MICHAEL:
But I'm supposed to save you.
ANNA:
You don't even know my name.
Sam and Carl fight with a bloody rage in the middle of the room, slashing at one another their claws. You can hardly tell the two apart. One of the werewolves overpowers its opponent, and throws him into a table with a sickening crunch. He looms over his unawares prey, when suddenly a silver stake pierces through it's heart. The werewolf falls to the floor, as the Baron stands behind it, bloody stake in hand.
BARON LATOS:
You're welcome, Miller.
The body begins to transform back, but it isn't Sam. It's Carl. A bloody hole sits on his heart, his eyes racing back and forth, his body sweating. Finally, he takes a gasp, and dies.
CUT TO
Anna helps Michael to his feet, and begins to help him to the floor. The Baron looms behind the, stake in hand. As he is about to stab Anna, The Wolf Man tackles him to the floor, knocking the stake out of his hands. As The Wolf Man comes to his senses, the Baron runs towards the balcony of the tower. His tower.
BARON LATOS:
On my terms, Miller.
The Baron spreads his cape out with his arms, and begins to transform into a bat. The Wolf Man chases behind him, and just as he turns into a bat, The Wolf Man leaps, and grabs him in mid air, with his propulsion sending him off of the balcony.
DOWNWARD SHOT
The Wolf Man plummets towards the river, bat clutched tightly in his hand. The hit the raging waters with a splash.
CUT TO
Anna and Michael exit the tower.

FADE OUT
