Recently, a reporter from "Movie Reels" got the oppurtunity to sit down with the writer and producer of a new show coming to Movie Reels, The Second City, and the star of the series, Nestor Carbonell.
Reporter: Hello, Legend.
Legend: Hey, how's it going?
Reporter: Good. So, how's the The Second City coming along?
Legend: Pretty good, we are almost done filming the pilot episode, which we are very excited about.
Reporter: So, let's hear more about the show. It's based on a group of people living in Chicago, right?
Legend: Yes. The show revolves around survivors of what seems to be an apocalypse in Chicago and their struggle to survive. More importantly, these people wake up with no memory of their pasts and must struggle to find their own identities.
Reporter: Sounds like it's going to be quite an interesting show. So, we have the star of the show, Nestor Carbonell with us, right?
Nestor: Yeah, I'm glad to be here. I'm hyped about the pilot, I think it's a show that will hook people from the beginning.
Reporter: How so?
Nestor looks at Legend and smiles.
Nestor: Well, I don't think they want me to reveal too much. However, the acting is great. I've got a chance to meet some real great actors, such as Kenny Johnson, Courtney Cox, and a lot of others. This show is all about the characters, from what I've seen so far, and these actors are doing a great job of making that a reality.
Reporter: So, Nestor, who do you play on the show?
Nestor: Well, there's not much I can reveal about my character since we've only filmed one episode and I know nothing about his past. I play Jacob King. He just wakes up in the street one day and finds this group of people in the middle of a destroyed Chicago.
Reporter: Alright, thanks a lot, Nestor. So, Legend, when can we expect the pilot to air?
Legend: Well, we were first hoping for February, but will try to premiere the show on January 31. It will be tough to get it finished by then, but we'll see. If not, it will probably be released the following Thursday. The pilot will serve to paint the backdrop of the series, and the episodes following will further delve into the mythology of the show.
Reporter: Mythology?
Legend: Yes, well, there are going to be some-weird-events going on in the show, let me tell you. And the pasts of the characters all play a part, through flashbacks as they regain their memories.
Reporter: How many episodes are you planning?
Legend: Well, first, we have to hope that the pilot is accepted, which we are confident that it will. We are planning a 21 or 22-episode first season, hopefully to wrap up in June.
Reporter: What is the significance of the title, "The Second City?"
Legend: Well, I'm glad you asked. We went through dozens of names in pre-production, and we couldn't find anything that fit. We were trying everything under the sun, and then the name just came to me. Obviously, Chicago is often called "The second city," but also, it represents the characters second chance at life. They may have had dark pasts, but this is their time for redemption. That is what this show is all about, so I thought that worked well with the title.
Reporter: And do you have any other projects in the works that we can hear about?
Legend: Well, I do have a movie planned, based on some historical events, but the deal hasn't been finalized yet. Anyhow, it'll have to wait until this season of The Second City is done.
Reporter: Well, that's all, I hope you have a good day, and good luck with the pilot!

Do I see "Bella" and "John Galt"? Hah. Well Bella was a coincidence, she will not be a crazy b*tch. Although she is most likely a little...slutty, to put it nicely. And John Galt...not a coincidence. But he will not kill us all. It actually might not even be the guy's real name, but you'll have to watch to find that out, won't you?

Yeah, Lost definitely influenced me. First, I was thinking about an apocalypse-type movie, but I couldn't think of any original ideas. Then Lost gave me the whole idea of the mysterious aspect, and the whole "backstory" idea-Except for in The Second City, the characters know just as much about their pasts as we do.
