T H E E N T I T YPLOT In the time of the Great Depression, when everything is down and segregation is rabid, a young black woman’s troubles could not get any worse. No job. No family. Racism all around her. The only thing she has is her small, rubbish excuse for a New York City apartment. But those are the least of her worries. Each night, as the woman sleeps, something else is in the room with her. It’s something not visible…something unknown. Each morning when she wakes up, a new wound is found on her flesh. As these episodes get worse, the woman grows paranoid beyond belief. She needs help but in the desperate times of racism and depression, the woman’s “nightmares” are the least of anyone else’s concern. Now, the woman is left alone in darkness, fending off her increasing development into madness and the unknown entity that lurks at the very end of her bed.
