Voting has been open for less than a week. I know, but from what we have received thus far -- I don't think leaving 8 categories open is such a good thing. I'm going to keep tabs and if needed -- we will have to resort to others voting for at least 2 weeks before the end of the deadline. ~Mr. Vincent

Any critics nominating anything would be kind of redundant because I'm fairly certain every director who has even the slightest chance of being nominated/winning will nominate their own stuff. Everything they nominate will have already been nominated, because I can't see anybody passing over any of their own stuff that even has a chance of being nominated.

Yes, I'm only making the assumption based on what might happen. If the deadline is over and there aren't enough nominees for a certain category -- I'd suggest we turn it over to our members. Members who did not vote for that category. Just an idea we can work with if we don't get what we need. ~Mr. Vincent

I'd like to nominate "Those Two Saturdays" for the category of Best TV Episode, but I wasn't sure if it's applicable since it aired in January. It seems to be widely regarded as the best single episode for the entire Where Were We? series, so that's why I'm interested in nominating this particular episode. However, I wasn't sure if the "only things since the Reelies aired" ruling applied to just movies or TV shows as well, especially since singular episodes weren't recognized at the Reelies.

Guys remember-you can only submit stuff that was released after the Reelie's cut off-and only 1 submission per category. That means if I sent in a Wolf Man sample, and had another film out before the cut off, I couldn't send a sample from that film into the categories for which I sent Wolf Man stuff.

I nominated some stuff, but it was hard to decide. On top of my love for all my characters and scenes, picking excerpts was very difficult. My best villain worked behind the scenes and acted a little grey on screen so I found it hard to pick a scene where he was extremely villainous (although he was), on top of that Best Action Scene and Best Death overlapped a little, along with my excerpt for Best Hero (which was also hard to pick from over a whole movie's worth). Then I tried to pick an excerpt for best Male Character but it overlapped with Best Ending. The only one that I didn't have these problems with was best female character (although it was hard to choose, the excerpt didn't overlap with any others). Plus, I think a lot of people will find that their best Male/Female character may be their best Hero or Villain.
I just hope the people choosing actually saw my movies and don't go just by the excerpts. Character builds slowly, not in one scene.
