Ok, where oh where to begin...

So basically in April 2008 I filmed a piece of shit fondly remembered as Birch Walk. It was to test out my new camera I'd whored myself out for. After BW I wanted to make something with a bit of a backbone. Something with depth.

To cut a long process short ended up with The Long Coats. Wrote 60% of a script, kept another 20% in my head and made up the remains on the spot.

So we shot the film. Its still on Youtube somewhere. It was alright. Held back by terrible audio, so so acting, dodgy scripting etc. However a few things shone through, not much mind you.

So I always felt that the idea was never really done properly. So here is my attempt at doing it again.

Part 1- The Forgotten Sons

Plot: The kidnapping of a high class doctor, Jimmy Gordon, prompts hired mercenary (or "Long Coat") John Doe, into a long chase to find him. But as the situation with the captive turns nasty, the road to finding him becomes more dangerous. Rules are broken and secrets are exposed... Welcome to the world of the "Long Coats".

Part 2- Dead Men Running

Plot: The events of ‘The Forgotten Sons’ has drawn attention to Long Coats Jon Doe and The Saint. The corpse of a familiar face brings the shadowy Ravens out for revenge. Now Jon, Saint and Jimmy Gordon are marked dead men. The Organisation is after them and their only hope is to run.

Status: 100% complete. 208 Pages.

I'll update this as the trailers and films are released. But just so you get an idea of how this is all working. I'm honestly trying my hardest to cut down the second film because its a beast. But so far I've only succeeded in making it longer.

Looking forward to these movies a lot. Really enjoyed the filmed version so can't wait to see what you do when you have a little more creative freedom.

Holy shit those are some long scripts. I'm interested though. Very interested. Looking forward to reading these!

Yeah Dale it was so liberating not being restricted in these scripts. But I did want to ground them in reality as much as possible. No over the top silly action sequences. Grounded action sequences which could actually happen. I'm very proud of them to be honest and I really hope you guys read everything, even if you dont like it.

Bats, they are long. It was a long story to tell. Sometimes as a writer its hard to tell what is unnecessary fat in your script. But I tried to cut out as much as possible for the second film. There is just so much that has to happen so events can lead nicely into the last film and finally come full circle.

Phew. Killer stuff. Thanks for the interest though guys. Its really inspiring me to finish the last script. And naturally I shall read anything that comes my way to return to favour of you guys reading such long scripts.

UPDATE 3RD SEPTEMBER

Ok, so only Daz is probably gonne read my trilogy, but oh well. For my own sanity I'm updating this. I've finished the last script, its in dire need of a few redrafts, both part 1 and part 2 had about four major drafts done.

Part 2 has been spell checked by my dictionary friend and after I make a few tiny adjustments and cut down the opening by two pages, it'll be ready to go. That should only take me an hour, if that.

I was incredibly proud of part 2, I personally think its ten times better than the first part. But now I've finished part 3, I'm feeling the same thing.

Oh and don't worry. Part 3 will be cut down... Somehow. Its epic. I don't mean to toot my own horn, but it really is on a huge scale. Very proud of Part 3.

Gonna stick to these release dates as it gives me time to polish. I know only Daz will read em, but hey, he give indepth reviews and its better than no on reading em.

Oh, and one more thing. So, today I finished the 3rd part, its now offically a year and two weeks since I started writing part 1....
